You don't win fights with defense, you win fights by landing punches, Floyd has won 41 fights, he has demonstrated clinical offense in all of his fights before the Mosley bout.
Granted he occasionally adopted different game plans for different fighters. The only fight you could say where he fought mostly on the back foot was De La Hoya, people who were watching Floyd fight for the first time simply labeled him as a purely defensive entity.
Look at Floyd's other fights Hatton, Gatti, Baldomir, Corrales, Judah, Marquez, Mosley etc etc if you need proof. He has always been clinically offensive.
Last night was the old Floyd in the ring. He fought very confident, didn't lay on the ropes and simply looked fantastic.
I was expecting Floyd to win and said long ago that Shane was old, but i was expecting maybe an 8-4 fight with Floyd on the move and Shane competitive through it.
Floyd though seems to have that old fire and confidence back.

Mayweather was not offensive in hardly any of those fights except for the Judah, Corley, Mitchell, Mosley fights.
Lol@ the Marquez comparison, that fight was mind numbingly boring.
The Corrales fight contrary to popular belief was not particular exciting to watch, although impressive.
For some reason he liks beating people at their own game. I remember watching the Hatton bout and Lamps saying Ricky was winning rounds because it was an infight. No, Floyd let it be an infight so he could **** Ricky up in his own territory.
He came forward more than he used to and he put together combinations more often than he has in a long time
he hasnt been that aggressive since the corely fight. He really fought Mosley's fight and beat him at it which was what was great. He could have backed up and used a lot of movement and single shots and still won but he really wanted the knockout
