I have seen floyd fans in various threads act like the Marquez fight makes floyd deserve special praise when debating whether he is P4P better than Pac. Floyd fought Marquez 20 POUNDS above marquez natural weight (featherweight). And of course the complete crap that floyd couldn't even make the catchweight set for the fight between them! Hell people even forget that marquez was in a complete tough struggle against both (an old Casamayor) and Juan Diaz. But in the end JMM heart and will won him both those fights!
However that was the limit of his capabilities! JMM is NOT a WW and would get destroyed by most good WW's! Pac at 147 would KO marquez in probably 5 or 6 rounds. and this isn't because Pac is a ATG but because at WW Jmm is unmobile and out of shape. Funny weren't floyd fans saying that floyd didnt deserve any bashing because it was just a tune up fight? but of course now its a great win for him! Please stop disrespecting JMM by giving Floyd credit for that win!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly...Its the same thing.
Not trying to hype up that fight more than it really was. But people are ignoring that Pac was a HUGE underdog entering that fight. While everyone knew that Marquez had no shot fighting at WW!
Name these idiots who are still bringing up that Marquez fight because I don't ever hear this shit. Who said that was a great win?
you would have to look around in the pathetic pacquiao vs mayweather threads. a bunch of posts discrediting Pac because he struggled against marquez while floyd dominated him. well no shit he would dominate him which such a HUGE weight advantage!

Cotto got a gift against Clottey and Arum knew it and rewarded Clottey with a payday against Pac man. Cotto is shot and it wouldn't matter if he hired Jesus to train him, that beating took "it" from him. Margarito should have been banned like Luis Resto.
Who are you picking Cotto or Foreman? a win over foreman would be one of the biggest wins of Cotto's career. Would finish the bullshit talk of cotto being shot!

Hmmm so Pacquiao gets Floyd's leftovers in a drained De La Hoya who was on IV fluids to rehydrate fight night, a shot and vastly overated Ricky Hatton, a Cotto who will never be the same after being beaten with plaster of Paris, and a club fighter in Joshua Clottey. Talk about over rated. Pac has never seen a fighter like Floyd period.
and yet you want to give pacquiao credit for beating a washed up weight drained morales? what about the drained zombie de la hoya?
or how about Hatton who got koed by Floyd and almost got koed again by Laszcano?
Or Cotto coming off a loss to Margarito who had hand wraps and who struggled to survive against Clottey? who also had to boil down to 145
double standards.. Mayweather dominates a guy PAcquiao had life and death with twice
look at my thoughts over the last morales fight. that fight was completely unnecessary at that point of morales career and i have never hyped up that fight for pac. of course morales is my favorite fighter of all time lol! and de la hoya wanted the fight at 147 he is the one who made all the demands in that fight! and of course you conveniently forget that almost NO ONE gave pac a CHANCE in that fight!!!
and again we dont know if margarito had wraps against cotto or not, and what exactly are you complaining about. after that fight cotto won both his fight before facing Pac despite the huge cut against clottey. and again floyd dominated a below average WW, not the beast that marquez was at featherweight!
Because he was P4P#2.
So if say Pavlik before the martinez fight were to have challenged Mosley and fought him at 160. would he deserve a ton of credit for the win? i mean mosley is P4P #3 in the world...
still waiting for floyd fans other than hh to speak up!

Pacquiao should have been disqualified for hitting Marquez when he was already down on the first fight.
JMM has gotten screwed twice agaisnt Manny.
haha now ive heard everything on that first fight... really man?
at what weight class were the pacquiao vs marquez fights? at what weight class was the floyd vs marquez fight? also if anyone got screwed its pacquiao, when the judge admitted to incorrectly having scored the 1st round of the first fight 10-7 instead of 10-6. if not for that blunder marquez would have 2 losses to manny right now.
Pacquiao should have been disqualified for hitting Marquez when he was already down on the first fight.

The "draw" was at 125..the other BS decision was at 130..what does that prove?
Does it prove that Manny couldn't dispose of JMM like he's been doing to fighters at bigger weight classes?
Were JMM's 2 fights before Mayweather's not @ 135? It's not like he went from 125 or 130 and jump straight to WW. You say he went up in weight and lost but I'm sure you won't bring up this argument if you were to argue Manny or Mayweather going up in weight. Hell, even Mosley went up 2 weight classes to fight DLH and didn't suffer from being the smaller fighter. Simlar to what JMM tried to do against Floyd.
So that excuse can easily be thrown out the window..Especially when you're the number 2 ranked p4p fighter at the time you fought Mayweather.
and Cotto looked in great shape?? Really? So we're gonna throw away those catch-weights Manny was throwing out to DLH and Cotto now? Are we also gonna "assume" that Margarito had those wrappings in the Mosley fight ONLY?? If we are, there's no reason to even argue anymore but it is what it is.
it proves that the fights were held at marquez best weight class while the floyd fight was at a weight that marquez has no business being in! At WW Pacquaio vs Marquez is the same mismatch that Floyd vs Marquez was! Neither floyd nor pac would deserve credit!
and the difference between floyd or pac or mosley going up weight, and marquez going up in weight is that each of them were always easily by far faster than any of their opponents! No one doubted that their speed was gonna carry over to the higher weights, any doubt placed on them was their power! However with marquez going up in weight, a lot of people realized that it was gonna hurt him big time because he has never been a above average fast guy. hell at 135where he got 2 big wins a lot of us mentioned how slow marquez looked!!! now him fighting at WW is just complete bullshit!
and cotto himself said he was in great shape probably the best he had ever been in! and like i said we have no idea how long margarito has or hasn't been cheating. so it doesn't add to your case or my case.
So its manny's fault that clottey's gameplan isn't good enough to beat Pacquiao? clottey has always fought that way and it got him ranked as a top 5 WW. After the floyd negotiations fell apart, he had to find a replacement and everyone agreed before the fight that clottey is one tough good SOB! and for the cotto fight, who knows how long margarito has or hasn't been cheating, so stop assuming he got beat by wraps! Cotto looked good in great shape for that fight and looked good in the ring but he was just outclassed by a better fighter!
Now you answer my question that you avoided the first time. What weights were the marquez vs pac fights and what weight was the marquez vs floyd fight? and what the hell are you talkin about the whole 12 rounds shit? the 3 judges would have come to the conclusion that after 12 ROUNDS, manny was the winner if the judge knew simple math! there is no other way around this!

Let me ask you this..did you critique Manny on his win against Cotto after Margarito mentally ****ed him with those wrappings? Are you going to critique Manny for fighting a timid and gun-shy fighter in Clottey...who just happened to lose to Cotto before the fight? Let's be real for a minute. JMM got screwed in at least 1 of their fights. You bring up the 3 knockdowns in the 1st fight but still fail to realize that it's a 12 round fight. Meaning, Marquez obviously did more throughout 12 rounds in their fight to even come out with a Draw.
but ok, let's keep nitpicking Floyd's win against JMM. I mean, it's not like JMM wasn't ranked in the top 3 p4p rankings at the time. It's not like he was a shot fighter or even a viable opponent. He came in, tried his best and came up short. Similar to what Mosley did tonight.
