After tonights brilliant performance i think its fair to say that at 35 Oscar de la Hoya was damn good at 35, and did better against Mayweather than almost any fighter out there could. Thoughts?
yeah, but im referring to how they measured up against mayweather. and de la hoya being a part time fighter makes what he did with mayweather even more impressive. the point im trying to make is he did damn good against someone as brilliant as floyd, and we cant take that away from him. in my book how floyd has dismantled everyone hes faced in his 3 fights since de la hoya is a sign at how good oscar was when he fought floyd. and yeah they had different trainers with different gameplans, but in the end it all comes down to the fighters ability to execute that gameplan, and if it doesnt work then adapt. im sure nazim richardson had a great gameplan with mosley, but at the end of the day look at the outcome.

Yeah who else could do a SD decision against Floyd
yeah i mean, i didnt expect mayweather to dominate like he did, i expected him to fight a boring fight to get the ud, but he showed he is still capable of putting on the great performances he did when he was a LW..DLH really took him somewhat out of his comfort zone that he was in with SSM and most other opponents

Yeah, imagine if he didn't get gassed out. Might have even won it.
