Hozumi was robbed.

I didn't catch the fight early this morning so I go and watched it a few minutes ago. When I read the results, I thought Hozumi was just out-classed, thought he was put out on his feet and I really couldn't think anything about it. With the way the article made it sound, I really couldn't argue anything for him, I thought he just straight up loss. Then I watch the damn video and he gets caught with a left hook and gets sent back into the ropes and with 1 second left, the ref stops it. What the fuck is that? C'mon, we all seen worse, we all seen times when dudes should have been stopped but the ref let it go. But how does anyone merit a stoppage with 1 second left? Has anyone seen Whitaker-Hurtado? Like Honestly. I ain't gonna lie. Hozumi was hurt and had one arm stuck in the ropes. But it was literally 1 second left and Hozumi wasn't getting all that badly rocked around. I think the first punch after Hozumi was hit was flush and the others kinda grazed off him. It's a title fight as well, as a referee you have to think about that too. You don't let a title fight end with 1 second left, you have to kinda just let it ride. How many punches is Montiel getting off in 1 second? 2? It wasn't like Hozumi was a ragdoll on the ropes either. Something that could have been great ended with bullshit. What would have been if Gatti-Ward was called a stop with 1 second left? See what I mean? I don't want to take anything away from Montiel's win but in all honesty you can't stop a title fight with 1 second left. Hozumi wasn't even getting Froch-Taylor'd on the ropes. It sucks but I hope Montiel gives Hozumi his rematch because that call was bullshit.

I just watched the fourth round of my copy of the fight. Montiel landed around seven flush punches while Hasegawa was on the ropes.....good stoppage.

I just read it on televisa deportes, I don't know if he said it in the ring. We know one thing for sures and that's that we will be getting a rematch but this time in the new champions backyard. I gotcha. Seeing him fight in Mexico would be pretty awesome though. Perhaps it will get Hozumi away from fighting only in Japan. Montiel definately proved to be more game than I thought. He wont be overlooked. :lol1:

I didn't see the interview or did he say that in the ring? Everyone who knows how I am though. Knows I don't nuthugg fighters, I can admitt when I'm wrong. And on this one I was wrong. I didn't see the slo mo replay on the backside. He was hit clean enough to warrant a stoppage but 1 sec left still gets under my skin. But thats just because I'm a Hozumi fan. Flicker, You know Montiel already said Yes to a rematch in a spanish interview... Except this time it will be in Los Mochis, Sinaloa!!!! I didn't see the interview or did he say that in the ring? You don't know much about how I make threads huh? I use topic titles as a lure, to bring people in to read. Topic titles sometimes have nothing to do with what I put inside the thread. Because I know how NSB is. Posters react better to bullshit, so the thread title lured people in to read. I didn't mention anything about Montiel or what Montiel did. I mentioned 1 second left. I still don't hear the sound of the punches while Hozumi was against the ropes. Before he hit the ropes, you can hear punches that rocked him. Then when he hits the ropes, the crowd volume goes to 10 and I can't hear the punches. The slow mo replay on the backside helped me see alot though. He was getting hit cleaner than I thought. So, I was wrong about that. I had a bad angle on the video I watched then and it didn't show the slow mo replay on the backside either. I don't think the fight should have ended on 1 second but I can't do anything about it, it's history now. My argument goes out the window with the slo mo replay on the backside, I can't argue that. Hozum was getting hit clean. I watched it a couple of times before i heard the punches. If you want to hear it, you really need to be close to the speaker and concetrate on it. The ref had to consider that Hasegawa wasn't defending himself, the reaction of the face, and the way the head motion(head was down before stoppage).

I don't see him crying like a baby and saying I was robbed, the boxer had honer and he basically ain't putting on a show saying early stoppage from what I can tell. Look at my previous post. The "robbed" thing is to lure people in. And did it fulfill it's purpose?

That boy got rocked and not just once, the first punch seriously hurt him but he even got hit by another nice shot after that. He would have been ktfo and in the hospital in the next round if Cole let it continue. Stop saying that. You may disagree with the thread but c'mon. You can't even say you feel comfortable when saying that. It doesn't sound smart, I'll say that. But like I said, I didn't get to see the slo mo replay on the backside. Was this only a 4 round fight? Also, Hozumi was clearly hurt, his head snapped back seriously by a couple of punches by his opponent! The fight lasted only 4 roundd. This fight had a title match, WBC and WBO, so if there were no stoppage, 12 rounds.
