...in the sport of Boxing? Name me one fighter who was cockier, more crass or full of himself than Floyd Mayweather Jr. Roy Jones Jr was cocky in his hayday, for those of you that can remember any of his fights and interviews...but not to this level. I believe it is FACT that the only reason that he gets so many PPV buys is in hopes of seeing him lose. If you disagree, thats great. But prove me wrong. Real talk...I think more people pay attention to his trash talk than to his actual fights. PROVE...ME...WRONG...You can't. He is not "loved" as a fighter and person as say a ...Pacquiao, an Ali...a Joe Louis...
And what other punchers does he have on his resume? Would you like me to dig out the top ten rankings from 1966-1976 and see just how many punchers frazier did avoid?
foreman had been the number one contender for two years before frazier did finally fight him and he had no choice but to accept a rematch as it as the only fight his irrelevant self was worth anymore.
Down your own bottle,lad.
Foreman had been the number 1 contender for 2 years, yet you claim he was looked at as a joke before Frazier. Do you ever get tired of making yourself look stupid?
Jimmy Ellis was coming off a near year and a half layoff.frazier's two biggest wins were over opponents that had been inactive and rusty at the time frazier had fought them.
Had frazier not cherry picked and avoided all those punchers then he may very well have had more losses on his resume. The foreman fights proved that he couldn't take a punch from a real puncher
frazier doesn't make any respectable top 50 p4p list. He's barely a top ten heavyweight.
This utter crap has been thoroughly debunked. You can't excape the fact that the timeline does not agree with your agenda and both Mac Foster and Ron Lyle were both beaten by Jerry Quarry when trying to position themselves to get a Frazier fight. THAT is a fact!
Paulia Malignaggi :dunno:
I would agree Paulie is up there, but at least he is whitty and off the cuff with his remarks. He's not as scripted with his statements. Naseem Hamed was cocky as hell, but it goes to show after one high profile loss, dude went M.I.A. from the sport. I know he had one other fight after the Barerra loss, but who cared? lol. Ali always baited his opponents with talk and the Joe Frazier fight hype was more of Ali's most brutal verbal judo. All we see of Floyd Jr on tv is his character and the talking in the third person and it's almost more than most can stomach. I'm of the opinion most tune in in hopes of seeing him lose finally, not because he has the most loyal fans. Just my opinion. I'm hosting the fight at my pad saturday, and of all the poeple that are coming...ONE is a Floyd Jr. fan. One

He wants you to hate on him, then complains about it. I don't hate him though, but I don't think he's doing a very good job portraying this "character."
If there is any proof to this I would like to see it and watch/read. I'm not being a dick. I just want proof.
look at his documentary...
what Jack Johnson was doing at that time was beyond taboo. Jack Johnson pissed off the boxing establishment so bad that there was not another black hw champ for 22 years!!! And in order for Joe Louis to get a shot and maintain his status he was under very strict rules to always remain humble in public, especially in victory and BY NO MEANS date a white woman. Joe only became champ because he bent over backwards to please the boxing establishment.
Jack Johnson caused riots my man. If that's not hate beyond refute I don't know what is.
Was Johnson hated solely because he was black or was he also a dick?
He was hated because he beat the shit out the "Great White Hope", he dated white women and he was "uppity" (a term used by racist white people to describe any black person who dares to declare themselves to be equal to white people --just like Barack Obama).
People aren't contributing to Floyd's $40 million purse for the Mosley fight because they hate him. If I hated someone, I wouldn't give him money!
See, this is an acceptable answer. If he has true fans, then let them speak up. Like I said, this isn't an anti "Flomo" or pro "pactard" thread. I just want information

both
mostly because he was black AND unapologetic in his crudeness
One of my favorite boxers of all time :)
at that time a black man would be lynched for sleeping with a white woman. He slept with many and bragged about it
