I wish Roy was more open to appealing fights in his prime. Maybe instead of people knocking Roy for not taking these kind of fights earlier should really be looking at his promotional team at the time.
the problem with froch is he is stiff as fukk, his head barely moves when he gets hit which means he's absorbing all of the damage
calzaghe is more loose, and flows with punches when he gets the chance too
I just think Froch would be busier giving him more better moments, other than 2 huge uppercuts Roy had little success. Laying against the ropes vs Calzaghe is the worst possible thing.
I do however think Froch would get hit a lot more.
Roy is a bigger puncher than Froch and the shot would have stopped 9/10 fighters. Roy was bringing that shot up from his boots one of those you can almost leap into when your`e opponent in bent over as you know you wont hit air or have anything coming back.

Roy also isn't lunging in with his uppercuts like a moron and still has a far superior defense compared to Froch. Roy timed Calzaghe coming in with a nice uppercut, someone made a gif image of it. Froch lunges in with his uppercuts, he doesn't time them as good as Roy does!

Yes.
Even the past prime version of Roy Jones who Joe fought is better than the tough but limited Carl Froch.
Of course, Froch is better than the 100% shot 2010 version of Jones.
Contrary to your belief, Jones was 100 percent shot when he fought Calzaghe. Fighting a current top fighter only exposed that. Jones beating C level or other shot fighters proved nothing going into his fight with Calzaghe.
if carlos was made to move up, roy would punish him
I agree, Froch still lunges in like a moron with his lunging uppercuts. He tried to do it against Kessler but got caught a couple of times!
As much as I hate Froch I would not say he is that bad. Jones was just trying to make it out of the fight that whole night. At least Froch comes to fight but would still get his ass kicked by Calzaghe.
I think even a past his best Roy has more tools to bother Calzaghe then Froch ever did. But thats just my personal opinion on this matter. Roy at times timed Calzaghe with nice uppercuts because Calzaghe was coming forward. Froch lunges in like a moron with uppercuts. Roy is definitely a better fighter even at this stage of his career.
No way. Jones has no chin, poor stamina and a limited punch output at this stage of his career. What he does well he only does in spurts. Flashes. And that's not enough to make him better than Froch. Jones as a top fighter is forever gone. Froch IS a top fighter in his division. Jones is finished.
