How poor is Froch-Abraham going to look? everyone always said Kessler was a technical fighter but i have always called him more conventional than technical, what we saw in the Froch- Kessler fight was a poor standard of Boxing imo, technically anyway, we can expect much of the same with AA- Froch imo.
Euro fighters need to take a long look at the coaching methods because technically a lot of the fighter are light years behind, even Amir Khan who is supposed to be really talented had little in the way of defense before Roach took over.
American fighters dont generally win because they are tougher, they win because they are technically superior and fight with their heads, not their heart, Euro fighters need to get to grips with this concept.
Kessler-Froch was a good watch in terms of endeavor and heart though.

I think Froch vs Abrahams will be a total war. Both need the win and both have heart a tough chin and are bangers.
This technical talk is rubbish. Wlad is technically near perfect for a hw it doesn`t make me want to go watch all his fights.
Technique plays a role in boxing but no more to me than heart or determination.
Dirrell was a bloody disgrace. The guy can sod off. Froch showed how you beat up a guy in his backyard.
by losing to kessler??? great show, enjoyed watchin froch get owned.
Kessler and Froch looked like slow ass bums to me. Both are slow as hell. They wing punches from all over the place. Carl Froch threw an uppercut from way out of punching distance and somehow still landed.
Against a technial fighter Froch would have been on the ground. Froch-Kessler was a good fight, but they reminded me more of Ward-Gatti than anything else.
not according to box rex, dan rafael, jimmy iowa, buncey, graham houston, the press row, allan green, emmuale steward etc etc...
Whether or not!
Froch had faced an 26 year unexperienced old prospect with 18 fights which never had gone the distance of 12. And it took place in his backyard!
Dirrell hit Froch he hurt Froch he slipped his punches and made Froch look like the Nikolay Valuev of the super middleweight.
If Dirrell had thrown more punches he would've cruised to an easy victory over Froch in Notthingham.
Froch as a world champion and the much more experienced fighter won the bout it was by a very small margin.
I had Dirrell wining it but as Froch said scoring fights is allways kinda subjective)
I am pretty sure if Froch would give Dirrell a rematch Dirrell would make him a clown.
Yeah American fighters are great technicians. It's just a shame that the majority of top Americans are boring as hell. I'd much rather watch Euro fighters, than Yank fighters.
Does the name Shane Mosley mean anything to you? How about Paul Williams? Both offensive warriors, both infinitely more skilled than any crude, Froch-style European brawler.
K-bros are dominant. Adamek appears to be dominant despite being a midget. (Sure, Chad beat him but meh Cunningham, Arreola, Banks, Estrada make up for that).....
That's about it actually lol.
SMW... we will see.
K-Bros are dominant but fight in a weak Divison they never beat a great fighter on the other hand Wladimir was stopped by Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster.
Adamek (who lives and fights out of New Jersey) is a true warrior but he got shooled by Dawson, was outboxed by Cunningham (the 3 knockdowns saved him the decision) and after Cunningham won the Eliminator against Braithwaite Adamek was very quick in leaving the divison and fighting 41 year old past prime Golota instead of giving Cunningham a rematch.
His win over Estrada was also a controversial decision i am not saying it is a robbery but this fight showed Adamek can be beaten by every boxer with a good chin or good defense and decent boxing skills.
His 2 wins over Paul Briggs were also kinda controversial.
So i guess Adamek is far from being dominant.

I dont really care what they think, i know how to score punches that land and that is what i scored the Dirrell fight on, Boxing is about who puts their hands on the other most, no matter whether your going backward or foward, Froch lost most of the rounds, even the rounds i gave him were kinda as they were rounds where he did not exactly land but more broke up Dirrell's rhythm and rabbit punched him.
You can believe Froch won though.
Get real kid. The Eastern Europeans are dominating you. Froch, one of the crudest fighters around just beat Pascal, Taylor and Dirrell. All North American 'slick blacks'.
frock lost to dirrell and barely got lucky with taylor.
I like boxers that come to fight!
It's entertaining, it makes your PPV money go further.
To be honest I hate the American style of fighting, "hit and run" style pussy fights. Who always aim for the points decision, pot-shot style amateur boxing as opposed to getting into a real fight.
American fighters 10/10 for technibility 0/10 for entertainment.
European fighters come to fight, Kessler, Froch, AA, true warriors fighting on the cobbles. No running, no ducking, just all out warfare.
Europeans are hard hard hard men. Real men.
You must love the neanderthals on Skysports Boxing then?
Id sooner watch Chad Dawson as drab as some people think he is over Prizefighter, a bunch of talentless drunks banging it out because they dont have the skill to do anything else.
Im looking forward to the fight, agree it would be very technical and may not look pretty at times. Could be a great brawl though.
Froch has a great chin, one of the best in the sport i reckon, but im interested in seeing how it holds up against a big shot from Abraham, as the way Froch holds his hand low and gets tagged, im sure Abraham will connect.
alright buddy, how about you dont watch the fight then and the rest of us will enjoy the richness of two tough mofo with power and chin standing and trading.

I meant american style as in, he uses his brain. I know he doesn't turn his punches over and his defence wasn't that bad, really he didn't get hit that much. He was a defensive specialist but he wasn't Arturo Gatti.
I think he'd have problems with Toney in his prime certainly. He would have to watch out for the counter right. I'm not sure about Hopkins, as much as I like Hopkins (who is one of my favourite modern fighters) he has always struggled with guys who had faster hands than himself. I think it would be close. Reggie Johnsons a good call, he had a good counter right hook, though I think Joe would have beaten him stylistically its a hard fight.
I'm glad you realise Joe was more than just a "come forward, slapper" he was smart which is what I think alot of Euro fighters lack. They are taught the fundementals like jab right hands and footwork but not what to do when someone knows how to get around fundementals they look confused. I think Kessler learnt a little bit after the Ward fight. He seemed to be bending at the knees more, using subtle head movement. He was no defensive wizard but he has changed a little.

Well when you say it like that then yeah i agree, also i think his defense was his offense a lot of the time, i would not question his defense so much against the likes of Mitchell, Brewer etc as they are not cute enough to exploit him consistently and win, technical(elite) counter punchers would be imo. Calzaghe did not get hit a lot but he did get nailed some solid/clean shots in fights against fighters like Kessler, Eubank, Reid, Brewer and even against older versions of Hopkins and Jones.
I feel Calzaghe fought to square sometimes when he got aggressive, swung wide and was a bit to gun ho, i dont think that would of worked against a smart technical fighter who could punch inbetween his punches, i think we saw signs of that against Hopkins. To me Calzaghe fought a lot of straight ahead guys but not many technically sound fighters, that is where i have reservations with him, Hopkins was slick but old, not able to keep pace.
I personally think Hopkins would of had a better shot at him than Toney as Toney did not like to work 3 min a round even in his prime. I also disagree about Hopkins struggling with quick fighters but that is another story :boxing:
He seemed to be bending at the knees more, using subtle head movement. He was no defensive wizard but he has changed a little.
He did, that is something positive to see imo, even if its only a subtle change at least he is on the right track.
Calzaghe was fluid but i would not call him an "american style fighter" as he lacked defense and did not turn his punches over sufficiently, to me Calzaghe would have problems with a technical elite American fighter like James Toney, Hopkins (prime) or even to a lesser degree a Southpaw Reggie Johnson.
Calzaghe is a smart fighter though, he does have a Boxing brain to, would not say he is technically sound though, fluid yes.
I think Calzaghe adjusted well in the Hopkins fight even though i dont think he won the fight, what he did was, he assumed he could just walk in Hopkins front door and start unloading, however Hopkins showed him he could not do that so what Calzaghe did was he closed distance slowly and edged his way foward and counter punched off the front foot, what he did early which was a mistake was close distance too fast, you cant always do that with a good counter puncher.

Its the different style of fighters, and personalities that make boxing the great sport it is. If every fighter fought like Mayweather or had Pacquioa's personality it would probably be boring as hell.
To be fair to Toney is was quite apparent that after 3 rounds he had nothing left and that he was badly! out of shape, i think we can both agree that Tiberi would of been dominated with ease had Toney been in top shape.
If Gary Locket had the power if Tito he would be an ATG... true story.
Where do the Eastern Europeans dominate us? I see the Klitschko's which have decent skill but are the only fighters (besides Haye) that are in shape in a divison full of poorly conditioned overweight athletes with good shape that the Klitschkos have and decent skill it is easy to dominate fat ****s like Peter or Arreola.
But besides the Klitschkos which eastern europeans do we have that dominate? Jep we have none!
The only thing they have besides the Klitschkos are paperchamps like Senchenko or hype jobs like Alexeev (lost to Ramirez) Dimitrenko (got undressed by Chambers) Shumenov (lost 2 times to Campillo) the other hype jobs like Boytsov and Golovkin will get undressed as soon as they face a real test.
