Am i only one who think margarito and cotto ruined each other?

well doug fischer from the ring said margarito was getting beaten up in sparring preparing for the mosley fight but that might happen for every training camp for margarito since he's a facefirst fighter. then again it might have given him the idea to use plaster to gain an edge since he knew he didn't have it.

yeah imo it's impossible to fight like that and not lose something. maybe not ruined, but they definately lost something.

margarito lost to shane b/c of excellent strategy....body punching #1, and he tied margarito up before margarito could retaliate......on top of all that, shane cracked the shit outta him to the head too. i agree, he took some hard shots from cotto, but to insinuate that had something to do with him losing to shane, is wrong. i suggest some of you youtube that fight, and download it in HD.....shane landed some murderous body shots on dude. Yeah. Saying that Cotto ruined Margarito is just downplaying Mosley/Naazim's EXCELLENT gameplan and power punching. Mosley was just a better fighter that night and he beat the shit out of Margarito. Plain and simple. Now, if he doesn't come back strong, you could argue that Mosley and the layoff cracked his chin, but I don't think it was Cotto.

And I think that a lot of his knockout to Shane had to do with his altered mindset more than him being cracked. lolz... it was a great fight, both guys took a lot of punishment. cotto clearly was lacking after that fight, b/c he got hurt by the "not so hard" punching joshua clottey. if you guys wanna say that fight took something "outta" margarito, fine. but that's not the reason he lost to shane mosley.

i agee with u ts..... both fighters took alot of blows, it was amazing how margo took so many punishment over and over. i mean look at boths fighters faces, it wasent perrty. maybe this huge layoff 4 margo is good 4 him funny how margo and mosley fightin 1 week aprt after tonys suspenension. poor mosley dude gonna have some ring rust, and goin with floyd..... shiiiiit...

I think Cotto took a lot of Margarito. He was not ready or heal for the Mosley fight (according to Margarito)

I don't think some of you guys really watch Margarito closely. Nobody had really hit Margarito as much and as hard as Cotto did. I am not putting Shane. I am taling about all the way up to the Cotto fight. Yes Margarito got hit a lot but never as much or hard as Cotto did... Margarito took some serious blows in that fight. Enough that it could of taken a lot out of him... Honestly I thought the same thing after I saw the fight. Margarito took some serious punishment in spite of winning.

He wasn't shot and I he probably is not shot right now either... But, is not far fetched to think the Cotto fight took something out of Margarito. Meldrick Taylor was not "shot" after the first Chavez fight. He wasn't, he was still a pretty good fighter. However, that fight took something out of Taylor. Not saying Margarito is shot. But, to say that there is no way that the Cotto might have taken something out of Margarito is ridiculous.... Name me another fight before Cotto that Margarito got hit with so many hard punchers very ofter in a fight? Not even with Santos or Williams did Margarito get hit with so many hard shots. People forget how heavy handed Cotto is, he had some serious bone crushing power. Just look at Malignaggi face, and how destroyed Quintana in just 5 rounds. i agree, cotto is one of the hardest punchers out there and margarito was getting hit flush with counter lefts and rights, cotto must have cracked margaritos chin, and mosley finished it, but i believe that cotto could knock margarito out in a rematch.

agree, normal fighter couldn't have resisted for more than 7 rounds if cotto hit them exacly like that.. Of course not, only special fighters could.... 97% of WWs would have not lasted 7 rounds against that version of Cotto that night. Only the special WWs could of hanged in there....

I think Margarito ruined Cotto but I dont think Cotto ruined Margarito. All his fights look like that until he overpowers someone but Mosley is just a much better figher. If he had the plaster and was fighting someone else then he probably wouldve got hit alot like always and then knocked them out this right here ^^^^^. cotto didn't ruin margarito, but cotto was definitely not the same fighter after that fight. mosley beat margarito b/c of excellent strategy (body punching, tying margarito up at the right times), everything cotto DIDN'T do in their fight.....

i don't think only mosley take him off the top.IMO a lot of his previous fight make his chin be damaged, including cotto. yeah, thats what Im saying. he takes alot of punishment in every fight his whole career. That shit will catch up to you sooner or later. I still think he's tough as nails though and will overcome alot of guys. We cant act like he's Floyd Mayweather or someone though. He's like the most unskilled elite guy ever, lol He gets hit at will in every fight but he's just such a force. Mosley is also the worst matchup in boxing for him IMO.
