I thought the original purposed name "the fight" was a good name and countered top ranks "the event" quite well. But with Who R U picking as the title its an attempt to influence the casual fan of this fights importance. There are not many fighters who would be favored to beat Floyd or even make the odds that close. Only person that may be evenly favored is Pacquiao. The problem is Mayweather vs Mosley is a great fight despite what odds say or who insiders pick. With the title Who R U picking the fight is displayed as even money to a casual fan. Its has a Kobe or Lebron type mystique to it. Its may be necessary to put the fight in perspective to a casual fan. Instead of hearing well Floyd is a 4 to 1 favorite and thinking this is a safe fight, maybe this way of promoting the fight helps get across that its not that cut and dry. This is a good scrap. Anyways what are your takes on it?
I like it..it gets everyone in involved and interested in the fight. I made a group on Facebook and I have been getting ALOT of feedback about the fight and everything. People post on the page about who they are picking everyday, its pretty cool. If anyone has facebook, be sure to become a fan. Here is the link.

I thought it was dumb when I first heard it but shortly after it made a lot of sence because it tied into thye whole promotion.
Some names are just titles, this name was more of a whole campaign.
It is a pretty good plan even if the name by itself is pretty lame.
I don't like the name, but I see what you're getting at. It's a smart idea.
I agree. It is an brilliant idea. The 24/7 shows and the trash talk is hyping it even further.
I said in another thread that the idea of 24/7 is the sell the fight and the best way to sell the fight is to create animosity between the participants. Pro Wrestling has been doing this for 60 years with excellent results.
If Mayweather/Pac is made, Pac would do himself a big favor ($) by using his acting skills to create animosity. In fact, I was thinking that it would be a brilliant move if Pac showed up at the fight and (if Mayweather wins), climbed in the ring and started talking shit to Mayweather like Mosley did. Even if he was speaking his native language, he could increase his purse from an estimated $40 million to $45 million. If he took a swing at Mayweather or better yet, spit at him, he would be looking at $50 to $60 million!
It is an integrated marketing approach. They decided to use polling as a key viral marketing concept.
from a consumer activation standpoint, it's fine. Also a point of differentiation from all the other fight names.
i didnt like the name at the start, but when you start asking people the question there are different points of view which conflict to only make the fight even more exciting.
Yes. Its unique and it also grows on you a little when you see it in action.
Crappy name but the Main Event along with the co-feature bout are top notch! I hope we get at least 1 more decent fight on the card, may be worth the money.
