Anyone who has watched one of the big PPV fights in a movie theater....
Is it good?
Also - is it the HBO broadcast? Or is it an un-commentated stream of JUST the fight?
Let me know. THanks.
It's a straight HBO PPV feed in HD broadcast live to the movie screen. The projector's the use are generally digital for this, so you'll pay $15.00 or whatever and basically see the fight on a giant screen, with loud, perfect sound blasting from all speakers. You can't beat it in terms of pure viewing experience. I saw Mayweather-Marquez and I've never been bombarded by the HBO commentators quite as loudly, with the boxers being two stories tall above me- it was awesome.
That said, you lose all the party atmosphere behind a big fight. You're in a movie theatre, not a house or bar, it's dark- the fight is dominating everything you can't really talk well, or drink a beer or eat; if you intend to just focus on the fight it's amazing.
If you want to enjoy it with buddies, talk about the fight, have a party or make an event of it- the movie theatre is all wrong for that. If you want a good viewing experience and that's it- it can't be beat. No HD home television can come close.
Haha thanks guys but can someone answer my question??
IS it the HBO broadcast w/ lampley and merchant and all the commentary??
is it hbo with commentary and undercard?
yea....
c'mon, this is the biggest fight since mayweather-de la hoya....
who else would be broadcasting the fight?
Is it HBO?
not sure if its the same but i was vacationing back in manila during the pac-hatton fight and they showed it in the theaters too back there, it wasn't HBO but there were still announcers/commentators just cant remember who. oh they weren't pinoy either.
i watched mayweather-marquez & hopkins-jones in the theater.
it was a nice experience to see the fights on "the big screen."
mayweather-mosley, i'll probably throw a fight party or go to one....
in the movies, there are children around, so you can't get too ****ed up and act out. i plan on doing both, watching floyd beat the brakes off shane.....
but if you've never seen a fight in a movie theater, you should go...it was nice.
