The ref is Michael Griffin, and the judges are Guido Cavalleri, Daniel van de Wiele, and Roger Tilleman.
If the name Roger Tilleman sounds familiar it's because he was the referee for Sven Ottke vs Robin Reid.

Got ya. The reason I said the head thing is because I remember him giving some other questionable warnings about using his head. Still, that's a pretty terrible warning as that looks like every other looping punch I've ever seen. Even Ottke looks like he got a chuckle out of it.
I saw the fight recently and the referee was definetely protecting Ottke. That being said some posters are talking things into something it wasn't. Reid fought really dirty. A lot of his punches wasn't with the knuckles. The referee enforced the rules.
Had that referee done a Calzaghe fight Joe'd have a DQ loss on his resumé. :)
Slap!

That's great analysis, buddy. Completely agree with you.
Hoping Kessler gets the win! Looking forward to discussing it after.
Thanks.
Definitely, I'll be on here.
I think he might actually be warning him for leading with his head but I could be wrong. If if that is the case it's almost just as bad as warning him for that punch. Anyone know what that fist to hand motion means?
Slap!

This is an amazing fight. It's now even more amazing Froch HAS to knock Kessler out to win... with guys like the Ottke-Reid Ref JUDGING the fight he'll have to pull a Pac-Clottey to draw on the cards.
one of the judges awarded Froch the win v Dirrel so it might not be too bad. Hopefully anyway.
I keep looking at that Reid-Ottke .GIF and wondering as to why the ref warned him. Could it be that he considered the shot to be an open glove? I know it's easy to say he was biased in Germany, but maybe there was something else to it.

Yeah that's what I said:
Boy that was a foul shot. can't Reid make a proper fist?
Some posters needs to cut down on the bias.
Yeah, I can see how that would suck. :lol1:
I like Kessler in this fight. Despite being totally dominated by Ward, it wasn't like he was brutal beaten. He did get cut open from butts, but it wasn't like he was getting drilled with bombs all night.
The key for Kessler will be to control the distance and establish his jab. Though, I'd like to see him mix it up every now and then and throw some more lead hooks or rights for example, perhaps that's something Montoya changes. He also won't have to look for openings to counter as Froch will lunge in off balance or throw lead looping shots.
As long as he's able to control the distance and picks off Froch as he comes in, he should be fine. But if he's not and Froch is able to pressure him and take away Kessler's jab and take advantage of Kessler when he pulls out straight back he could be in big trouble.

If you look closely you can actually see the bulge in the refs trousers.....
......Which is a roll of cash from Ottke's handlers of course.

Yeah mainly because I had to move about a lot to find different places to sleep different days lol
How do you think the fight will go? I remember our talks a few months back about Kessler demolishing Froch. I must admit I am a tad worried on Kessler's behalf. I just hope he is still as hardened as ever and can take some punishment if needs be. But still, I'm picking Kessler, don't know how he'll do it, could be either way, lean to a decision though. Yourself?

right enough? might read up a bit about that. and not plan any holidays to iceland (cant say i ever thought of going to iceland on holiday mind you).
I'd love to go to Iceland actually. It should be awesome. And it's old danish territory. :)
Lot's of vulcanic info on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katla
A rather tiny vulcano actually. Some 20 kilometers away is the KATLA. Tha's a supervulcano and that will give major problems if that one erupts. In the past it has erupted just after the one that's erupting now and it usually does so every 80 years. Last eruption was in 1918.........

Yeah, that's crazy with the volcano. It must've been a hell of an eruption to cover most of northern Europe. Those days in London must have been going by at a snail's pace for you, eh? :lol1:
I didn't know him very well, but it's sad.

Jeez, so this could only be the start?
BTW, on Saturday will you be wearing a viking helmet, along with your Brett Favre Minnesota Vikings jersey?
The referee is the same one who did Reid-Ottke? Oh SHIT
That was the worst refereeing performence/robbery I have ever seen, The deck has been well and truly stacked against Carl. He needs to knock Kessler out cold to win this fight and in the Reid-Ottke fight this referee pulled Reid away whenever he got near Ottke and was warning him and taking points away for doing nothing.
Expect a robbery, I hate politcs in boxing.
Froch make us proud and knock Kessler out so it doesnt matter who the referee is. I feel if he doesnt knock him out, In Dennmark he will have already lost the fight.
No, he's a judge for the fight.
The ref is Michael Griffin out of Canada. He's got experience in title fights, including Holt-Bradley, Pascal-Diaconu II and Hasegawa-Valdez.
