Let me get this straight. The guy that is going to clean up boxing with his ridiculous blood tests now refuses to put his title belt on the line just two weeks before the stinking fight! Oh, he doesn't have a real belt. It was a real welterweight belt held by Shane Mosley who beat a real welterweight.
Mayweather doesn't even have the "manhood" to do it himself, he has his rent per fight promoter do it for him as if it's beneath him.
Who's supposed to be carrying this fight anyway? He takes credit for carrying the De La Hoya and Hatton fights (which are obvious lies) and being the ultimate money man but he's just a fast and loose con man.
You're telling me Mayweather doesn't even have a title? He's gone about three years without a title.
Mosley has been his typical cool and professional, full of pride self. Mosley keeps his World Boxing Association 147 belt if he wins. If he loses or draws, they'll decide later. It was the belt he legitimately won by beating Antonio Margarito and saving us all.
Manny Pacquiao has the WBO title he won in November from Miguel Cotto. The WBC Champion is Andre Berto of Haiti. Unknown Jan Zavek has the IBF Title.
It's time for Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to roll and he has not a clue how he is to conduct himself and we are only two weeks out. Is this fight in trouble? Is Mayweather finally self-destructing? Isn't the petty belt a non-issue beneath even bringing up?
This is why you must have World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman involved. He could easily create a belt, say an "interim" title or a champion "in recess," whatever it takes to get us through the night and you're going to tell me none of this is going to be good enough for Floyd Mayweather, Jr. or Al Haymon for a measley 3% to the WBC coffers?
The macabre goings on in Venezuela are of more interest than what's going with this belt or during the last episode of 24/7 I hate to say. So why does Team Mayweather bring it up today? Was anyone even asking?
The emperor (Mayweather) in this case wants better than 50% of a purse against Manny Pacquiao? This should be an easy negotiation for Bob Arum because these boys are all bluff and have to be concerned with beating Mosley now.
So Floyd fights a legit opponent the next angle people are attacking him on is the fact that he doesn't want his opponents belt to be on the line.
Get the **** outa here.
Why do you guys think Floyd would have to fight a mandatory? You realize we're talking about the corrupt ass commissions here, right? They don't want 3% of say Mayweather/Zaveck, they want 3% of Mayweather/Pacquiao or whatever other fight that's gonna generate the most cash. Again, I don't blame any high profile fighter for not surrendering 3% of his purse for a belt that means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.
i gotta say, floyd not fighting for belts serves 2 purposes. he doesn't have to pay sanctioning fees and he doesn't have to fight the mandos.
hopefully floyd don't cherry pick anymore
Floyd doesnt want to fight for the belt just incase he loses he can still say he "only fights for money" which of course he will still get if he loses. If he wins he wont have to face a mandatory sooner or later which would be a top contender and a legitimate threat to him. He only wants to pick and choose who he thinks he can beat - this is not the mentality of real champion.
Floyd Mayweather is a pussyhole.
dont get me wrong here because i think he should atleast fight for the belt just for the sake of winning the belt if he wins the fight but i dont really think his mandatory wba defense would be a fight anybody is going to get excited about. if mayweather was fighting anybody in the wba top 10 right now he would be taking heat over it for not taking a dangerous fight. im not really trying to stick up for floyd on this but just look at their rankings, their might be some up and comers but i think floyd is on another level.
he’s the most talented fighter of our era what’s a belt got to do with anything you guys need to stop searching for different things to hate on Floyd for im not a fan of how he conducts himself out of the ring but if you don’t admire his undoubted talent there is something wrong with you you must be blinded by hate. As for the blood tests and what not I think they should have been introduced a while back cleaner sport equals a better sport
400,000 buys and some change, not a million buys. Brad Cooney already exposed this myth. Floyd's words ad actions bring the worst out of Floyd haters. Even casual boxing fans hate his arrogance
If you have proof then provide it in the form of a link or name and date of publication when the story ran.
Here is where I have a questions about Brad Cooney's objectivity...
Journalist Brad Cooney reflects on his time with Team Pacquiao
November 13, 9:03 PMLas Vegas Boxing ExaminerChris Robinson
"After his initial meeting with Roach, Cooney would establish a friendship with the trainer that still exists to this day. That friendship would lead to Cooney returning back to Los Angeles time and time again for training camps with the man who would end up being Roach’s prized pupil, Manny Pacquiao".
So is Brad Cooney a journalist covering Roach and Pacquiao or Roach's friend? I wonder if some objectivity is lost when writing about a friend.... (not being a journalist I wouldn't know).
Fact: Mayweather v Juan Manuel Marquez did 1 Mil ppv buys
Help me understand your thinking freeloada......
Who carried the ppv draw for both Pacquiao v Juan Manuel Marquez fights?
If you say PAC then why didn't he sell more ppv buys in two fights than Mayweather did in one?
If you say Juan Manuel Marquez then you admit that PAC isn't a top level ppv draw.
You can't claim that Mayweather is a ppv fraud without hurting the credibility of your fighter PAC.
Here are the PPV facts:
Floyd v Hatton 915,000 PPV buys (Pac v Hatton 850,000 PPV buys)
Floyd v DLH 2.4 Mil PPV buys (Pac v DLH 1.25 Mil PPV buys)
Floyd v Marquez 1 Mil PPV buys (Pac v Marquez2 400,000 PPV buys....Pac also had the benefit of Pac v Marquez 1 to sell the second fight)
In each case the public voted with their dollars and more people prefer to watch Mayweather vs. common opponents over Pacquiao.
You are going to have to come to grips with the fact that if Pac ever wants to fight Floyd he is going to have to take a drug test according to WADA or USADA protocol AND (because he didn’t agree to the fight in March...) now he is going to have to take the lesser end of the purse split (60/40 minimum) because Mayweather has already proven he is the bigger draw and with the May 1st fight expected to do more than twice what Pacquiao v Clottey did..... I'm sorry to say the negotiations just got a whole lot tougher.
Sorry dude.. this wasn't a article that i wrote.. :lol1: i found it on a different website.. if i didnt put the link then sorry.. i usually always put a link..

i read your earlier post, and took it as you saying the dude was somehow scared to fight "upstarts," even tho he's clearly going after the best fighters in the division, who are already established....
if that wasn't your stance, then my apologies, i misunderstood.
bottom line is that floyd has been fighting for a long time, and i honestly don't think he's on some kind of 3 or 4 year return trip. i think he came back to fight the best fighter (manny pacquiao), then leave for good. through circumstance, shane got in the way, so he's gotta take care of him first....floyd's really not at the point in his career where he has any interest, or needs to prove anything by fighting upstarts....that's now berto's job.
floyd was sitting on his couch, saw manny destroy oscar, and thought, "ching-ching!" to himself. that's why he came back. not to fight the collazo's, clottey's, alvarez's, and jones's. he came for the guy being billed as the "top" guy, then he's out.
paying a sanctioning fee, for a belt he has no intention in defending is pretty pointless, even you'd have to agree with that.
Co-Sign... i agree with that statement 100%
Worthless non-title fight. Im starting to lose interest for this fight. Floyd thinks he is above the sport and is slowly destroying boxing because of his childish demands. The fight should be a title fight for the sake of boxing.
because you watch a fight only to see a belt raised at the end of it right?
Come on Pactards, now you want Floyd fight no namers who cant last a second in his world? Didnt you haters keep repeating floyd is dodging this and that guy? now you want him to fight no namers? I dont know what u guys have in your head lol, hes here to fight the best and for the big fights, but still you find a way to hate. Amazing.
He made a great statement, **** those ABC belts, there should be only 1 belt per weight class. He doesnt need a ABC belt to be himself.

It's good the way you see it bro! Coz he wants it that way, so be it!
I'm seeing it as broad as not only Floyd. I'll say it again, I'm not insinuating anything on Floyd on what he needs to do, he can have a pistol belt, garrison belt or any belt if i care.
You sound like I have a problem with Floyd not going after the belt but I don't WTF! :pat: If that's the case I think i failed on my first post where it's too blank lacking explanation.
It's all god though!

they never fail at trying to boost to pacs lame run at WW fighting shot opponents, do they
What sucks is the WBO and IBC ww champ and this allows manny to be called a 7 division champion. I remember when you had to win either the wbc or wba title (no ibf around) to be champ.
1) Floyd only cares about the green belt
2) Berto is holding the belt Floyd vacated
3) The lineal championship or the ring championship >>>>>>>>>>>> any trinklet out there
to get that he would have to beat shane then Pac (chances are if the pac fight ever comes off Floyd won't pay the WBO fees either)
that was a dumb article or post. The man was retired for 2 years and retired with the real WW belt. He acts like Floyd never had one. He had a real belt and was the Ring Champ but retired and since has only had 1 fight. Now he's fighting the #1 ring Champ but he just dont want the belt. I was saying years ago that once you reach a certain level then the belts dont mean anything. Belts are for guys like Berto. Floyd, Pac, and shane are bigger than the belts.
Also, we got to hear that dumb stuff about Floyd not carrying PPV's again. Sure Oscar has always been the man but he set the record with Floyd. Hatton carried the PPV? Who the fukk in the US knew Hatton? No fukkin one. Floyd carried that shit. Then he fights JMM who never had any good PPV's and everyone called it a joke fight but still got over a million buys while Pac couldnt even get close in a fight that everyone said was a big fight against Clottey.
People are hating too hard now
good post, atleast i got some siggy material out of this thread. there was plenty to choose from.
any true boxing fans kno those belts mean shit rite now in floyd's career...he's had them all, he dnt need em. i care more about who he fights. when he did care about the belts and when he did go after the ineal ww champ, it wa an issue...i dnt get some ppl on here...
