LOL And Emmanuel steward also said the fight went how he thought it would go even though he said Shane would win haha.. Also Merchant was already making excuses as Shane was getting his ass handed to him. He kept going on about Shanes age and saying "Well there's a reason Mayweather was a favorite in Vegas.." Merchant is the biggest Mayweather hater in the world. Also Freddy Roach said that Mayweather would never fight Mosley then when he beat Mosley Roach said Mosley was old now lol.

The reason Shane appeared so fatigued is because he couldn’t change the complexion of the fight. Had he been able to hurt Floyd again, I’m sure you would have seen a spark of energy. Shane had his mind blown mentally for that fight. Floyd put him in shock. He couldn’t believe how strong Floyd was and how hard he was punching. Reputations That means, for the first time in 14 years and 41 fights as a professional, Mayweather is going to be taken out of his comfort zone. Never mind the greatest boxer in history, he should go down as the greatest match-maker in history because he books the best fights for himself; the right fighters at the right time. But for some reason, I think he's blown it this time, I really do. I know Emanuel Steward shares the same view - that Floyd loves the comfort zone. I was also talking to HBO's Larry Merchant out in Florida the other weekend and he agrees. He made the point that Mayweather is considered a great fighter but has never really been in a fight, never mind a great fight. Now I know dear old Larry might take an eternity to say something, but he knows his boxing inside out and doesn't pander to people's egos or reputations. And I think he's right. That is what makes this fight so exciting for us all. Because he is bigger, and at least as quick, Mosley will make Floyd fight. I remember covering his fights in places like Portland, Fresno and Grand Rapids at a time when none of the casinos in Las Vegas wanted to touch him. He was president of the 'Who Wants Him? Club' and I can't recall one boxer down the years who has managed to re-invent himself so dramatically to go from being grossly unpopular to an all-time great. I actually think Ricky Hatton had a lot to do with where Floyd is now. Ricky's draw and his fan-base raised Mayweather's profile because until then, what he had showed us, wasn't exactly box office, was it? Shane Mosley though, is a rejuvenated fighter. I am not sure he will ever be as good as he was when he beat Oscar de la Hoya but certainly last time out against Antonio Margarito, he looked sharp, he looked slick and he looked like he was back in love with fighting. no, i basically called it just right. shane was made to look good by the worst version of antonio margarito who is just as much a damaged goods as cotto after their war. margarito took 3 to land 1 vs cotto & it showed against mosley. at least cotto was able to get a jennings fight to see what he had. margarito went straight after mosley. there's a reason why floyd was favored by vegas almost 3-1 to beat shane. dont confuse nsb posters with the overall consensus of the boxing world. shane was basically 39 years old & 1 year & 5 months off his last fight. everybody knew floyd would beat shane because shane was shot, old, & way past prime. & it showed in the fight when he gassed out after the 3rd round much like hopkins & roy did vs calzaghe. which reminds me, how old were bhop & roy when the fight vs calzaghe happened? :spankme: :dunce: I didn't. I don't take too much stock in Steward and what he says because he always predicts what would happen in a fight after it happens. Merchant straight hates Floyd and they all act wishy washy with their comments regarding him and I believe thats probably why Merchant wasn't commentating on Mayweather vs Marquez, because it was clear that Lampley et al had been instructed to be more positive toward Floyd, because he makes them so much cash. Moving on, I'm not saying that Mayweather will win, but they say this before every Mayweather fight. Hatton was supposed to be too rough and rugged, Baldomir too big, etc but after the fight they become bums. Baldomir probably had a bigger size advantage over Mayweather than Mosley has and I wouldn't exactly call that Floyd's comfort zone, nor would I call going up to 154 to fight Oscar being within his comfort zone. Yes skillwise he proved too good for them, but who hasn't he proven too good for? In his fights with JLC, Floyd was fighting a WW at LW, because Castillo came in weighing 147 he has been outweighed by crazy amounts many a time and to deny his greatness would be stupid regardless of whether he loses to Mosley or not, just like Shane's greatness isn't marred by his losses to Winky, Forrest or Cotto. The thing that I think has most people thinking Mosley wasn't as great as they thought was that he didn't learn too much or adapt enough in his rematches. The truth is we are seeing the number 1 WW face off with a guy who is ranked number 3 at WW and retired as both lineal WW champ and p4p #1, whoever loses shouldn't really feel too much shame because they are fighting the best. Totally agree. They always said that Floyd always fights smaller opponent(s), but it's not all that true. Zab Judah weighted 150 pounds on fight night to face Floyd, while Floyd weighted 146. Baldomir weighted 162 pounds on fight night, while Floyd weighted 149, JLC outweighed Floyd by 9 pounds on both of their two fights, ect. They ignored all that, but as soon as Floyd weighted 2-3 extra pounds over Marquez, they called him a fraud..

Can you give me a direct link to Steward picking Mosley? I heard an interview with him saying Shane will come to fight but what he does will bring out the best in Floyd and will make Floyd show his greatness. I heard this as well so not sure where he got that info...

I never was a Margs fan. I thought shane was gonna bring it to him because shane responds ferociously when some one wants to trade with him and that's what puts him on my list of great fighters. I guess I'm looking through all the promotional smoke and mirrors and I see it as 2 guys go in a ring from 2 different gyms and fight for a couple dollars. I know who I'm going to pick, but anything possible. Good luck Shane! If I keep posting I'm gonna be labled a Mayweather head.. I don't see how Shane can win this fight. And I know about fighting. If Shane fought Pac I got it being a great fight and that's more of a toss up but id pick Pac to win. Shane looked about even with a washed up vargas in the first fight, horrible against mayorga b4 he ran out of gas and slept on shane, and clearly lost to cotto. Not to mention what one trick pony Winky did to him twice. The best fight in the last half of decade he had was against Margarito.He kicked he ass, just like everyone who knows boxing knew he would. Mayweather has been in tough situations before...check the Augustus fight, or the hernandez fight, or the Castillio fight. Broke both hands, fought with a torn rotator cuff but still kept his cool and stayed in control. Floyd looks pretty, and thats what deceivest most people...they say hes not ready to go to war, i say Mosley is not ready for a beast like floyd. As Nazeem said, you bring the fight to him, he will turn into a dragon...i dont think Shane can step into his tail.
