I look at Khan and get the feeling he cant really get much bigger, though i thought that about Manny Pacquiao and look at what Freddy has done with him.
I guess anything is possible over at that wildcard gym =]
bradley - kinda on the short side and lacking in pop. he could make interesting fights, but I don't see him beating the top 3 at WW
alexander - plenty of skills... really good chance to make a good impression
khan - khan is tall, strong and hasn't really filled out yet. only problem is his chin.
Who could move up to the star studded 147 and be a success there?
Out of the fighters listed.....Khan and Bradley....
Alexander doesn't look like he could "fill out" to be a WW.....Bradley already looks like a WW....and give Khan another 2-3 years.
Ortiz is nowhere near a LOCK to be a threat at ww
i think he is.
he's one of the biggest out of all the top JWW's in terms of build. hes also one of the most, if not THE most naturally gifted fighter at JWW. i also think he'll carry his power to WW better than all the top JWWs.
on fight nights he looks like a full-blown junior middle.
now you may proceed to comment on his heart or quitting in 5, 4, 3, 2.....
ortiz
alexander
bradley
maidana
in that order.
benavidez will probably end up a middleweight when his career is over.
and dont sleep on mike alvarado and in the future, kenny galarza.
Not right now IMO. Neither holds a threat with punching power to go up in weight. There is a lot of skill and speed and the matches can still be done at 140. If they go up is cause there is an opportunity to make serious money.
Timothy bradley, Devon Alexander and maybe Amir Khan if the added weight improves his china chin.
They all have are athletic, skilled and strong. And they all have speed.
Maidana style is not made for the higher weight class. He would be destroyed by any of the top 5 welterweights because he won't be able to physically out beat his opponent and have to rely on his punching power which might not be great at 147 and he is not skilled at all and is flat footed.
Paulie, is too feather fisted and is weak as hell. He got destroyed by ricky hatton and cotto. Who are all pressure fighters that are physically stronger than him.
And ricky well....he is shot after pacquaio put him to sleep.
Taking into account talent and physicality; Alexander and Khan, not sure about Bradley, hes pretty small and already ripped out, though he has the talent to make the move up.
This whole thread depends on how big an impact we are talking about, i wouldn't pick any to beat Mayweather, Mosley or Pac.
Hatton has already been a WW champion,
Alexander and Bradley would beat most other WW fighters, maybe Berto would win but would be close,
Kahn is young and has the frame to move up eventually,
Maidana has the power to hurt anyone but I have only really watched the Ortiz fight so I can't talk much about him,
Malignaggi gave Cotto a good fight and i think could handle most WW power but will not knock any of them out,
This is why I voted all of them, but as I said none of them will beat the big 3 but could make a big enough impact to win some belts at WW

Whoever ends up reigning supreme between Alexander and Bradley will be the first to move up and will almost certainly have a ton of success, and whoever loses will eventually move up and likely have good careers there as well.
