If you think Mosley's really gonna win this fight then your crazy, it's wishful thinking, or your still hyped from the Margarito win.
Cotto was able to outbox Shane. Now we all Floyd is 10 times the "boxer" Cotto is. Floyd talks hella shit about this and that but when he gets in the ring he transforms into a intelligent and tactful fighter.
The fight will probably go something like this.. Mosley has aged, he's slowed down in all aspects as a fighter other than power. He knows it, Naazim knows it. With that being said I hope to God their gameplan wouldnt be to outbox Floyd. He'll come out trying to make it a slugfest for the 1st half of the fight.. which Floyd wont bite. He'll pick his shots and outbox Shane to a UD decision.
If you u think different feel free to put some points on it.
Cotto did outbox Shane. What the punch stats do not show is that Cotto controlled the pace and dictated the action. That is called ring generalship and even Mosely commented in the post fight interview that the kid can box, which caught him by surprise. Besides, you shouldn't put too much stock in Compubox because it is not as accurate as you'd think.
I think you are confused. The shoulder roll defense is not effective against southpaws, but is was made to defend especially against right hand fighters.
Shane is not faster than Floyd. He's a step or two behind Floyd. If Cotto was able to beat Shane to the punch, Floyd most definitely will too.
thank you.......

i tell you what i agree with youmone may has skills and is a pure talent
This is an easy fight to pick imo. Shane has lost to winky, forrest, and cotto all three of them just boxed him to a UD. And floyd is a boxer, what do you think is going to happen?
Well shane still has a "punchers chance"
Cotto has power thats why. Floyd is a pillow fisted boxer, Mosley will just walk thru Floyds punches and hit Floyd at will. Floyd's defense only works for smaller opponents.
That has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever read here.
Completely different fighters. Cotto didn't just outbox Mosley, he brawled with Mosley, had the power to keep Mosley honest, and took a lot of big shots.
Stop bringing up Cotto as a reason Mosley will lose this fight, that fight is completely irrelevant.
The Cotto jab in that fight can't be overlooked and Nazim is not a miracle worker. It wasn't just that Cotto outboxed Mosley it's what he USED to outbox him. Whether Mayweather uses it successfully remains to be seen but you can't ignore the fact that the possibilities exist. And regardless of what anybody thinks, Mosley is going to have to respect Mayweather's power. That doesn't mean that Mayweather is going to knock him out but he has enough power to keep Mosley from getting reckless.

No he won't.
Floyd UD as much as it sucks ass.
The only reason that some people on boxingscene believe that Mosley is going to win is because they want to see Floyd loose. I think the only person right now who has a chance is Manny.
1. Cotto fought shane. He came forward something floyd only does on a video game
2. They landed the same amount of punches so where is the out boxing in that
3. No more Jack & that power boxing
4. Shoulder roll don't stop a right hand.
5. Shane is faster & will counter him
6. May 1 = May's 1st

Mosley won't fight PBF the same way he fought Cotto. 2 different fighters. I don't think Shane respected Cotto nearly as much as he respects PBF. And of course PBF won't press as hard as Cotto did. Even though Cotto was playing the boxer himself most of the time, he sat down on his punches, pressured Mosley, moved him when he hit him, and muscled him in clinches. PBF won't do any of that.
Hmm, so you think Mosley will be able to pressure Floyd and execute his gameplan?
But in retrospect isn't that gameplan perfectly designed for Floyds defensive 1st, counter-punching style?
Because he has a strategist - Brother Nazim Richardson - Mosely is the type of fighter that needs technical guidance.
I hear you... i just dont think that'll be enough at this stage. Maybe some years back but not today
Because PBF is not Cotto thats why!!! Cotto's jab, footwork, ring generalship, smarts, corner, reflexes, punch accuracy, etc is all better than PBF's. So why would anybody think PBF could do what Cotto did? :pat:
Yes its major sarcasm
LOL... i was bout to go IN until i read that last line
I didn't say he won them easy (don't know where you saw that) but he did win them doing something that Floyd excels at. And like you said Cotto was starting to fade, which is something PBF just doesn't do.
I think Floyd can do what Cotto did in those last 4 rounds for a full twelve, without fading. Mosley will steal some rounds here and there, but not many. And no way a faded Cotto hits harder than a fresh PBF. Cotto hits hard but not that hard.
I think Cotto has accumulative power, but you also have to look at the competition he's faced at WW and how good they can take a punch. Floyd's not really been in that type of environment at WW which makes this fight with Mosley really intriguing.

Mosley was winning most those rounds at the end of the fight. I don't know how you have Cotto winning 3 of the last 4 rounds. And he was not fighting like Floyd at all. He won most his rounds not fighting anything resembling like Floyd Mayweather.

Just watch this video. You can see throughout the majority of the fight that Cotto was bringing the fight to Mosley. Floyd doesn't attack in that way more than letting his opponent make the 1st move if he's right in front of him. This fight was fought at a very high pace with both guys throwing and landing.
You know what I think many people on this forum don't have any idea juts how good Floyd is. They let all the hate threads on the internet cloud their judgement. But Floyd has the skills to make Shane and even Pac look like amateurs. They wont admit it though.
I agree totally.
Most of Floyd's haters aren't even hardcore boxing fans. Most of them have never seen him fight below 140.
Floyd has the skills to shut Mosley down all 12 rounds.
how can a fight be completely irrelevant? If you don't judge who would win on their previous fights then what do you base yourself on?
It was pretty clear that when Cotto got tired and started to stick and move and time Mosley in the last 4 rounds, he won 2-3 out of 4 rounds. He didn't just outbrawl him. He was beating him to the punch and moving out of range before Mosley could hit him back.
It's irrelevant the way people are using it, as if Cotto fights anything like or is similar in any way to Floyd Mayweather. And Cotto did not easily win those rounds at the end of the fight, are you kidding? That's when Mosley made his push because Cotto started to fade.
Just like the people who think Cotto was successfully boxing Pacquiao when he started moving, ridiculous.
