It doesn't surprise me at all that he took his own life. It's hell to come out of an alcoholic rage and reality sets in. If the greedy f**kers around him had gotten help for him sooner maybe this wouldn't have happened.

Great fighter, but a terrible human being outside.
Sorry, but this is a public forum...you'll have to swallow people's opinion even if they're good or bad.
i have never seen his fights at all but i knew that he was a undefeated wbc lightweight champ and i feel bad for his wife and him too i know he was having some problems battling his personal demons it just sucks that nobody could reach out to him and clearly see that the man had some serious problems and needed some guidance cuz after all this was a human being like all of us that most likley needed some serious help and nobody cared enough to see that his life was getting way out of control too fast..REST IN PEACE VALERO
Innocent wife huh?..
Wow!..some people here are so ****in naive!..you guys believe Osama ordered the hit on the twin towers too huh?..lmao!..
Don't believe shit you hear, and only believe half of what you see..
We don't know what he was going thru and I will never justify his actions..but for all u hyprocrites sitting at home sinning day in and day out..just remember they all needed help..and didn't reach it in time obviously..ur judgement means shit..because obviously you didn't know Edwin Valero personally..only what the media decided to show u..pathetic ingrates
I still wouldnt say RIP to him... hes murdered his wife....it dont matter what she may have done unless she was trying to kill him, you cant just fuking kill people
Then he goes and commits suicide....People that kill themselves after something like committing murder, obviously know they were in the wrong
R.I.P.
To Mr and Mrs. Valero.
I wish he couldve gotten the help he needed. It wouldve saved two lives.
I feel so bad for his kids...
Damn what couldve been.
WTFFF
Hes dead???????
I was reading earlier that he was on trail for murder....but what the ****
Now i come home and read hes committed suicide.......fuking hell....
ONE must be really sick or must really be a retard to start a thread giving tribute to a murderer. one who murdered the mother of his kids. the TS really has no class a unadulterated idiot!! bad taste pweh!!!
I am kinda sad, and I wasn't even a fan. I was expecting o see him doing big things in the little weight classes over the next few years. Such a shame. Such a waste of talent. R.I.P.

oh **** off, I cant believe mods are allowing tribute threads for this man, I dont care if he was a good boxer, no wife beater and murderer should get tribute threads at all. you all should be ashamed
he beat his innocent wife and now he ****ing killed her. The coward then took the easy way out and killed himself
What he did was cheap and truly cowardly, but as Larry said, God will be the judge.
Please let it be known that I am not letting him off the hook here, but it did cross my mind and I did ask myself if his previous brain injury, while taking punches for a living, may have placed him in an unstable and psychotic state of mind.
As we all know, brain injuries can change a persons personality forever. Him being in this sport, moving up in weight and facing bigger and bigger punchers, makes me wonder.
I guess we will never know. I for now will still condemn him for the violence towards his wife while not not seeking help for himself. Even if he was in a compromised state, I believe he still should have known right from wrong.
True, but damn...this early in his career?.
