... who does that leave between now and then for Boo-tay! to improve his resume fighting, and possibly building up a fight against the Super Six winner?
Robert Stieglitz - now this guy has a title, doubt he's ever gonna leave his backyard to fight again.
Sakio Bika - this is probably the next fight, but very tough for little reward. I would be very impressed if Boo-tay! knocks this guy out.
Is there anyone else at Super Middle worth talking about? Hopefully maybe Kelly Pavlik can move up and get brained by Boo-tay!
Anybody that comes out after this round of the Super 6, all are quality in the comp so it makes sense
This is definitely possible. The third stage fights of the Super Six will be happening in the second half of this year, with two fighters being eliminated afterwards (one of them being Green IMO). One of those guys would definitely be a viable fight for Bute.
Until then, Brinkley-Bika is on FNF May 28 in an IBF title eliminator... whoever wins will be Bute's mandatory. Unless they can make a fight with Hopkins in the meantime, I would assume the winner of that fight will be Bute's next opponent.
He has already fought Bika, Pavlik is kind of pointless after that loss and hopkins is old and the risk is not worth the reward. i respect hopkins and i dig that he wants to keep boxing but he is so bad for the sport at this point. Maybe taylor and pavlik should fight again, and the winner gets a second chance with bute. i would like to see bute vs all the super 6 guys but since that cannot happen, I think the best fight for him is against Dawson. He loses then at least he lost to the light heavy champ, if he wins then he is a easy top 10 p4p and should be a pretty big deal by the time a super 6 winner is crowned and of course him vs the winner would be a big fight.
Stieglitz, Bika are good fights.
I mean Taylor is proberbly the next most significant fight which shows all the significant fights are in the super 6. I would love to see all of the super 6 face Bute at some point but it's probably not going to happen.
I suppose if it really gets that bad theres always Lacy....
jean pascal vs bute at the bell centre would sell out even if they sold the cheap tix for $1000
thats how popular they are in montreal!! That would be a great fight too.
Maybe Hopkins. If he'd win it would be a nice name on his resume.
Even though Hopkins is old and all that, no-one has decisively beat him yet.
Interesting proposition. Would love to see Hopkins get Boo-tay!'ed into retirement.
