Just wanted to know everyone's take on this issue......
According to a good number of "fans" on NSB....Hatton was never the same after getting KOd by the ringpost.....I mean Floyd.
Cotto was never the same after getting BTFD (beat the f**k down) by bricks...I mean Margarito.
So now does Margarito fall under that category of "shot" since the manner in which Mosley destroyed him was....BEAUTIFUL?
Just wanted peoples' opinions......
IMO...Margarito is done.

Margarito won't be the same fighter. He relies on his chin to make his style work.
but did hatton have a Zero on his record...NO.
this was post Floyd-Ricky.
if they were so confident in manny's ability, they woudl have fought hatton and took his Zero. which they didnt.
instead, they prefer going after the easy targets who wont present a challenege
hence why they ran from shane and floyd
Now I know you are an idiot.
Guess how many fight pacquaio had above 130 when floyd took that 0 from hatton. 0
Pacquaio was still at 130 hence why he didn't fight Hatton yet. He was too busying worrying about what was Marquez, david diaz, Soto, Guzman, and Valero was doing at the time.
Now tell me this.....WOULD YOU EVEN GIVE PACQUAIO CREDIT IF HE BEAT SHANE and the NOT SAY HE DUCKED COTTO.
And also how are you hating on pacquaio for taking roid(not proven) and at the same time supporting a known ROID user.
Don't act like Shane didnt straight out ducked Paul Williams.
There is no reason why people should respect your opinion because you have 0 boxing knowledge.
I guess pacquaio avoided challenge so fighting bums like Cotto, Morrales, marquez, and Barrera should never be question. Wow pacquaio ducked shane, even though both shane and cotto are the same level of fighters and the only reason cotto fought pacquaio because they have the same promoter and ARUM didn't want to share any money with gbp out side of their lil share that the get from pacquaio. It wasnt ducking. Really shane beat a margarito who has been caught cheating and without cheating margarito is just a bum.
Hatton recovered fine, as evidenced by his win over Malignaggi. That was probably the best ever Hatton performance in terms of how he looked, slipping punches, setting up attacks, high workrate etc. Cotto has obviously a little wear and tear on him from the Margarito fight but I think it's minimal. Because he'd always have struggled with a big strong WW like Clottey so that doesn't mean anything. And Pacquiao was always too good for him. I don't think Cotto has slowed up, he boxed very well against Pacquiao, he just got wore down as I believe Pacquiao would wear every 147 lb'er down.
i can just imagine how a boxing board like this would be back in the day when fighters fought more often, the best fought the best and losses came more frequently, even for the really good fighters.
it'd sound like an LMFAO song "shot shot shot shot shot shot shot shot shot...EVERYBODY's shot shot..."
im not gonna say any of them were shot. but if anyone is gonna agrue they were on the rise and they were as prime as they were b4 their losses, that makes no sense. all of those fighters were comin off big losses, they had fights in between but nothing impressive.
it is a big difference when ur fighting a fighter on the rise than when ur fighting a fighter on a rebound. its true, i dnt think anyone can argue a fighter has the same level of confidence when they were undefeated and they are coming off losses. this is my only big knock on pac and him fighting margs without tryna get that mayweather/mosely fight would def seem like this is the type of fighter he prefers.
All I know is this if Hatton punch resistance was shot by the time Pac got to him. Then Hatton punch resistance was shot after the Collazo. Because, Hatton did not look good with a green slow Urango right after Collazo. He only look against a truly shot Castillo.
You take a shot Castillo out of that resume. And, Hatton looked crappy in all of his fights after Collazo.
Floyd took his punch resistance i think......Floyd was landing clean and hard early......Hatton ate alot of shots from Floyd and Floyd sat down and planted his feet.....he hit him in the face, jaw, liver, temple.......he was hitting him hard and clean.....rd 8,9 and 10....Hatton took a real beating.......couple that with yo-yoing in weight with all the shite he does btw fights and the fights after Floyd, you would have to say his punch resistance was not there at all.........Pac almost smashed his jaw clean off with that shot.......Hatton is finished.....
how about this
diego corales=WEIGHT DRAINED
castillo 1st fight=robbed
gatti=LOL WTF
baldomir=11 loses lol..got beat by clottey til he hot DQd
judah=been KOd b4
delahoya=been kOD b4 by hopkins
ITS ALWAYS EXCUSES..WHEN PAC FIGHTS,HES ALWAYS THE SMALLER MAN AND THERE ARE QUESTIONS..WHAT IF PAC GETS HIT? then the excuses came..
Thnx for the history lesson.....diddn't have anything to do with the question though....:pat:
his record doesnt matter b/c he was no llonger undefeated.
if pac and roach wanted to prove something, they should have fought hatton and been the first to take his Zero but of course thats not how they work
Dude what is wrong with you? Can't even take you serious with comment like this...
hatton was shot after may. remember lennox saying during the telecast that hatton needed to retire right after Floyd KO'd him? lennox said it that quickly.
lmao at your comment that cotto was at his best. haha. right.
LMAO at you pointing out what one of the worse commentators in the game said
did roach and manny call hatton out when he was undefeated? no they didnt.
so that posters question is moot
Sometimes you say outrageous stuff...
Just out of curiosity, what was Hatton record at 140 when Pac fought him?
Hatton always drank and got fat Burner... That was the whole thing about Hatton even before Floyd.
And, whatever depression he had after Floyd he got that shit back after Malignaggi. He got his confidence back after the fight.
But, here is the thing with Hatton he was never really that good. He caught KT in the right time. He was a good JWW throughout his career. But, dude was never good enough to be called eilte. The Collazo fight proved it and Collazo was not as slick some people make him out to be.
Hatton caught a great fighter at the perfect time. Beat him and was perceived as elite. But, he really never was...
Fair enough. Hatton isnt a word beater. Hes very limited but uses his strengths well. I dont think he was elite. I would say Good. He was a tough, rough, strong dude with a little pop. He wasnt a world class elite dude though. His run at JWW is good enough however for him to get mentioned as one of the best from that weight class.
This is a good topic. Dont ruin it. Bring something to the table or get out the way.
any subject that feeds your floyd dickriding hunger is a good topic to you
Hatton is a weird case. He literally ate Kosta's shots. Collazo hurt him because hes slick and can place shots where Hatton cant see them coming. Especially if you get wild against him like Berto found out.
I think Hatton showed a good chin throughout his career until late. I think thats mental too and that has to do with his depression, drinking and weight problems. Floyd turned his lights out physically and mentally. I was talking to Earl Hickey about this and he was telling me how Hatton was crying for weeks and slipped damn near into depression and was drinking like a mad man and getting fat as hell so I dont know I think that Floyd fight hurt him mentally. If you remember the build up for that fight Hatton KNEW he would beat Floyd then to get embarrassed killed him.

Look I followed hatton through his whole career, he was not shot at all. I know he had a top class trainer and looked for a excuse for the loss. He was at the best he could be in that fight, mayweather prepared hatton for pacmans main habits, even oscar said mayweather prepres a boxer very very well.
oh the cotto shot excuse, its just pathetic. seriously, look at his performance, he was at his best. no excuses, pac just out classed him.
A shot fighter is someone imo who has decreased in class, chin speed and so on. you can see very easily who is shot and who is not. Margo is a different case, until you see how her performs you can only guess

To be fair Hatton drinks and eats like a mad man depressed or not lol. I did read the reports of him crying weeks after the Floyd loss, etc. but Hatton is a guy who I think is strong enough to bounce back mentally after such devastation.
Almost completely opposite to Miguel Cotto, who to me's damage mostly appears to be contained to his mind, I reckon Hatton's wear and tear was all physical.
He could be tough enough but that fight was unreal how big it was. Maybe losing on that kind of stage was a hard pill to swallow.
I had Cotto to beat Pac but when the second round came and Pac nailed him. You could see it in Cotto eyes that he was flashing back to the fight to when he was last hurt. He wasnt the same Cotto we come to know who get hit , hurt, dropped, rocked, stunnd and bounce back strong. He wasnt the same guy.
Stop trolling...goodness.
