Lineal champion does not equal Ring champion or vice versa

I always considered the lineal champion, either the "man who beat the man" or undisputed champion if the man retires.. going by that lineage died with Lennox Lewis, neither of the Klitchkos have ever been the undisputed champion and probably never will (since they wont fight each other).. here are the lineal HW champions cyberboxingzone.com/boxing/achamp.htm

I doubt that there is even 1 true Linear Champion left. The man who beat the man, who beat the man, etc. It would be a considerable challenge to trace every title back to the last Linear Champion, or maybe not. Lets see. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam is. The lineal title at flyweight dates back to Canto in the 70s.

The Ring does not decide lineage though, they decide ring champions. A box off between the top two rated guys or in SOME instances the #1 guys vs the #3 guy.actually that is the way the ring title is decided. to re establish lineage you need 3 of the four major belts

Yes, we know that. Example been made. Zolt Erdei was the Lineal Champ at LHW but Joe Calzaghe was the ring Champion You know but not everybody else knows. I have notice a few posters in the last few days thinking both titles go hand in hand...
