Genaro Hernandez was the #1 ranked Jr. Lightweight in the world when Floyd fought him.
Angel Manfredy was the #1 ranked Jr. Lightweight when Floyd fought him (manfredy was #2 at the time floyd fought genaro).
Jose Castillo was the #1 ranked lightweight in the world when Floyd fought him.
Ricky Hatton was the #1 ranked Jr. Welterweight in the world when Floyd fought him.
Carlos Baldomir was the #1 ranked Welterweight in the world when Floyd fought him.
Oscar De La Hoya was the #1 ranked Jr. Middleweight in the world when Floyd fought him.
JMM was the #1 ranked Lightweight in the world when Floyd fought him.
Now Shane Mosley is considered the #1 Welterweight in the world.
How can anyone hate on that resume? Seriously.

this is a great thread
it really is impressive, but pac beating mab and morales is still better. imo mayweather will only deserve to be number one again once he beats pac. or if pac keeps fighting the josh clotteys and floyd keeps fighting people like mosley. one or two more fights like that and i'd put pac back at 2.
how morales was done the second and third time...pac has bigger names but not better fighters
And Floyd would school him so what does it mean , nothing !
Would of, should of, could of.....
Thats the problem, with all of Floyds talent he could have done soooooo much more, and we could be ranking him up there with Leonard, Robinson etc...which will meet his own high opinion of himself.
He has a good resume, but its nowhere near great. For me his best wins are Corrales & Castillo II, but with the comparison obviously being made with PAC, neither or anything on his resume is better then Barrera I.
I respectfully disagree. Those guys were both on a downwind spire when Pacquiao fought them.
Agreed. Morales has just got schooled by Zahir Raheem when Pac fought him a second time. He should have demanded and fought Raheem instead!
He was ranked number 1 by Ring Magazine at Junior Middleweight and that was before Oscar bought it. The fact that he held a championship belt would have gotten him a ranking NO LOWER than number 4!
Why do you keep saying that? He was not ranked #1, he was ranked #5 at the highest when Floyd fought him.
Ring Magazine(a magazine De La Hoya owns) rated De La Hoya as the sixth best junior middleweight at the time Mayweather fought him.

He said Hatton was number 1 at Junior Welterweight, dumbass. And Oscar was number 1 at Jr. Middleweight, according to Ring Magazine, which you are using for your argument. How many number 1s has Pacquaio fought?
no he was not ranked number 1 at jr middleweight by ring.
yes hatton was number 1 at 140, remind me did the fight take place at 140 or 147? if at 147 then hatton was NOT number at 147 when they fought.

Wrong stop making stuff up...
LOL@ HATTON ranked number 1 at WELTER. Your list is full of holes. Baldomir was the Champ....he isn't ranked 1. No way Oscar was number 1 Jr. Middle.......lol!! JMM champ at Lightweight who fought Floyd at Welter :haha:
According to the Ring Pacman is number 1 welter. Mosley is 2.

How many fighters ranked number 1 in their weight division has Pacquaio fought and how many were actually fighting him at the level where they were ranked number 1?
Sasakul, MAB, JMM, Hatton,
And, Ledwaba at the time was at worst #2 but a lot of people thought he was the best at 122 at the time. However, Paulie Ayala was the lineal champ...
That would be Hernandez, Manfredy, Castillo, Baldomir and Oscar De La Hoya.....and Mosley (as of May 1).
We are talking about boxing rankings...not fantasy rankings....
Its irrelevant if he didn't fight them at the weight class they were # 1 at. Stop trying to skew shit.
How many fighters ranked number 1 in their weight division has Pacquaio fought and how many were actually fighting him at the level where they were ranked number 1?
That Hatton comment shits me to tears you dumb fuk , dont you know anything about weigh-in and fight weight , Hatton weighed the same getting KOed by Floyd as he did against KT Castillo and Pac , and Floyd was a pound lighter than Hatton being 151 , WWs come in at around 160 Floyd and Pac are tiny WWs ,,,,, when I see this shit I know you are a bias fukwit that has blinkers on to the sport of boxing .
How the fuk can Hatton against Pac be better than the undefeated Hatton against Floyd Hatton looked terrible against Pac mentally not in it , you call weight when they all weighed the same , get the fuk outa here and go and learn the workings inside the sport other than the hype articles .
you are a retard?
end of the ****ing day the fight took place at ****ing 147
get that into your thick skull, that means cotto, margo, mosley and more ww were higher ranked at that weight. Hatton has no business fighting at 147. I will ****ing tell you how hatton was better because it was his prime weight.
Listen you just proved you know **** all about boxing. total idiot. Telling someone else to have blinkers, jesus ****ing christ you are stupid. Hatton was number 1 at 140, not ****ing 147.
How many of those did he actually fight at the weight they were ranked #1 at?
:lol1:
That would be Hernandez, Manfredy, Castillo, Baldomir and Oscar De La Hoya.....and Mosley (as of May 1).
And Floyd would school him so what does it mean , nothing !
Maybe he would of, but it means that Floyd has never fought anybody as good as Barrera. That is what that means...

At that time would you have ranked Hatton at WW ahead of
P-Will
Margarito
Mosley
Cotto
Clottey
Barrera was in his prime when Pac fought him the first time. Barrera P4P is better than anybody Floyd has fought.
And Floyd would school him so what does it mean , nothing !
oscar beat him i reckon.
floyd only won the last 4 rounds or maybe oscar won the last round with the hooks he threw.
oscar won that fight and im sure a lot of people will disagree but u don't know how to score rounds.
oscar throws and lands some and mayweather blocks some and throws a jab or left hook that oscar blocked all night long.
