FVCK Larry Merchant can't wait until he is gone. GOOD RIDDENCE!!!!!!

I like Merchant as well, but cmon guys, Max Kellerman is what boxing needs right now. He puts energy back into the sport, and my friends who aren't boxing fans enjoy the fights a lot more when he is commentating.

Larry is tough and tells like it is! I will also be sad the day he retires... Merchant is HBO BOXING!!!!!!

i was very happy to see larry this past saturday, it's been long over due. i really hope hbo can hang in there for a lil while longer. it'll be a very sad day to see larry hang up his mike. i've been watching him since the early 80's I haven't always agreed with Merchant but I've always liked and respected him. To be honest, last Saturday was the first time Merchant's age really stood out to me. He looked older than Ive ever seen him look during a broadcast and has slowed considerably. I have a lot of old VHS tapes my dad made and some of them are from the 70's with Merchant calling the fights. One that stood out was Ali-Shavers. It will be sad when he finally hangs it up.

Yea Merchant's the man. I hope he stays healthy and can do some more .broadcasts. I also enjoy Max Kellerman. He just needs to get tougher. When he got the mic taken out of his hands that was embarassing. Could you imagine that happening to Dunphy or even Merchant. No because their thicker skinned. You need to put the fighters in their place to a certain degree.

For me,HBO boxing is just not the same without Merchant commentating. ...was very much disappointed when wasn' tthere for the Pac/Clottey fight. I'm gonna really REALLY miss the 0ld man when he retires.
