Back in 1970 when I was 5 years old my old man would put me on restriction if I didn't wake him up to watch a fight. I would watch all the fights with him growing up. His favorite fighters were Ali and Duran. Back in those days every fighter fought anybody.....no ducking back in the day. I can still remember the fight when Holmes fought Tex Cobb and Howard Cocell was calling that fight........that was the last fight Howard called because Holmes put a beat down on Cobb. I still think they should go back to 15 round championship fights!
I saw Tex Cobb a few years ago at Joe Fraizer's gym(its closed down now), my cousin use to box there and my other cousin and i went to pick him up. we were waiting outside and my cuz said..MR TEX COBB!!! HEY...
He was real cool, i shook his hand he had huge hands. i didnt have a camera though.

not sure most likely was nothing on TV flicking around and landed on a Roy Jones Jr fight and have watched boxing ever since over 10 years now.
Watching Tito and Roy Jones when I was in grade school. But then I didn't watch for a while cause I didn't have HBO. Then I was flipping through the channels and saw Edison Miranda's violent KO of David Banks and thought maybe I should start watching again.
I got mugged one night and then got a heavy bag to practice fighting so that I'd have the courage to defend myself if that situation ever happened again. I started watching fights to study their moves and got hooked.
My dad was the starting push..he was a good fighter early on in his prime..4x golden glove champ...beat out Wayman Tisdale for the presidents athlete honor award..fought Julian Jackson for WBC title in the 80s..so I grew up around it..but I became a die hard fan watching Pea..then Roy..also it didnt hurt that I met a ton of famous fighters at a fight night event when I was 11
What goy you into boxing?. My reason.
I got into boxing at 52 as I always was thrilled by the thought of punching other people in the face, I always enjoyed watched someone get pounded in the ring. When my doctor suggested an exercise routine to help me stay in shape and then suggested boxing as an idea I decided that I should go for it. I took some lessons and now participate in Tough Man contests that are in my area. Mediocre at my skills but have a decent win/loss ratio. Love pounding somebody merciously!
My dad used to box which caused me to get interested into it.. It was a different way of enjoying sports, than what I was normally used to and I took great liking to boxing.. It's exciting and there's no real saying of what's going to happen.. It's a diverse sport with loads of interesting and exciting fights and fighters to see and learn more about.

The Man In My Avatar Got Me Into Boxing In The First Place...
Gatti Ward 1. I watched it with my uncle and my step father among many other. My step father has been a die hard Ward fan his whole life, my uncle was a die hard Gatti fan. Just hearing them go back n forth got me into boxing. And the fight was pretty good too, haha
