I have been meaning to try and ask some one about this maybe call ticketmaster but I havent gotten around to it. I invited 3 of my friends to "the event" and we bought $100 seats 3 weeks away from the fight. My friends are fans of boxing(not huge fans) but they seemed hesitant at first. They didnt know who Clottey was and they didnt want to take the 6 hour drive but I convinced them that we never get a big event like this within driving distance and they really wanted to go to Cowboys Stadium so they said "lets do it". Well a week before the fight, 2 of them said they were out, then the other one followed, then I followed because I was'nt going to go by myself. We had already paid for the tickets so we decided we would put them for sale for the price we got them excluding fees and I was really confident we could sell them. In the end we got screwed because THEY DIDNT SELL!! My dad said that no one was going to buy them from Kansas 5 days before the fight because they were scared. It was a good lesson I learned that cost me money but what I really was wondering about was when the fight came around and I heard that they filled every seat in the 50,000 set up. My question is why were there people sitting in the seats that we paid for? Is there some kind of thing in place where people can re-buy the tickets or something? If that is the case then that is completely wrong because for all they know me and my friends could be arriving late.
Now that you say that, I looked around on line the day of the fight and found tickets for sale and they were priced way more expensive then mine like they raised the price on them. So if my cheap tickets with out the fees did not sell I am sure the others did not. I was basically screwed either way. I am just wondering that in the end there were people sitting in my seats that some one else paid for and that makes me feel kind of upset.Look there is no way in hell 50,000 people actually paid money for tickets to Pacquiao-Clottey when Cotto-Pacquiao still had tickets available the day before the fight for 17,000 seats. People were saying that Mayweather-Paquiao would fill 100k, but even then no way in hell all those would be paying customers. In the end they really wanted to make an event out of it and put an ass in every seat in that stadium. Chances are they did it at all costs and aside from the people Jerry Jones brought in through various corporation partnership invitations and local community ties, they let people walk in the arena for free, and its your loss for not showing up for what you paid for.
a sold ticket counts as someone in attendance when they announce it even if the person who owns the ticket doesnt come
its like at a football game (soccer for you lot). we sell season tickets, let me use arsenal fc as an example, they got a 60k stadium, 45k is pre sold (before the season begins as a season ticket), 15k is sold few weeks before. those 15k are sold and they come but only 40k of the 45k season ticket holders come. so only 55k are at the stadium
but when they announce the attendance they will say 60k because they sold 60k tickets.
most likely your seats were left empty or someone jacked it during the fight by leaving theirs empty
u know what bro F8ck ya shady friends if they diss you should of still rolled and scalped the **** out of theirs and made sick profit!
learn to be more independant and secure and confident enough to roll solo then you can actually go out and grab life by the throat instead of only doing things when your boys agree to go.Now that you say that, I looked around on line the day of the fight and found tickets for sale and they were priced way more expensive then mine like they raised the price on them.
