Just want to touch on a few things.1.Mosley never look good at 154 and is always the smaller man in the ring.2.Margas hisself said he did not know what was happening with the hand wraps because his trainer did not tell him.I also believe the Margas that was beat by Shane would have beat Cotto styles make fights and cotto gases out past the six(Maybe it all the clubing and drinking he does).He would have been trying to avoid and not box Margas and you can't do that vs Margas it just adds fuel to his fire..3.Mayorga was 175 on fight night do you think that's why he was able to take Mosleys shots so well?Mosley knockout a guy who was 175 think about it.Dude if May beats Mosley I will be first in line to give him his credit he would have earned it.Mosley is a beast and would give any fighter in the WW class a tough test.Have some respect for both of these HOF boxers.Oh do you think Berto would have beat Mosley?If so your crazy.Watch them face off Berto look like he was in way over his head.

Shane Mosley is still the same fighter that struggled vs a totally shot & crappiest version of ricardo mayorga up to that date. I saw that fight & i just couldnt believe how sloppy, unathletic, & decrepit shane looked. He kept on getting hit by mayorga's slow, looping, wild right hands only to regain some semblance of moral victory with a last second knockout. The whole point of this thread is that mosley was made to look better than he really is by the worst version of antonio margarito. Imo, margarito was suffering ill effects of the cotto fight along with the mental instability of having been caught with plaster before the fight contributed to a totally shot fighter physically & mentally. Margarito in that fight was slow, lethargic, he was literally dragging his whole body throughout the fight, his volume punching was totally gone, yet it took shane 9 rounds to dispose of the guy. Come fight night, shane will be 4 months shy of his 39th birthday & will be out of the ring for exactly 1 year & 6 months. Yet people think this fight is gonna be great? I will be rooting for shane but basically he basically has nothing but a punchers chance. Really? I saw the mayorga fight too...I agree Mosely had a tough time with Mayorga and might have blew the fight off...but Mayorga was actually boxing in a couple of rounds...in fact Mayorga was actually setting his punches up with jabs. If anything it was the most surprising fight of Mayorga. I say this about Mosely; he will have to muster all his experiences and athletism to win against Floyd. Mosely is definitely a puncher/boxer so a "Puncher's Chance?" no...is he a smart puncher? Undeniably Yes! So, I give Mosely a "Smart Puncher's Chance" I think he has the tools to out hustle Floyd. mayorga landed about 13% of his punches. Shane didn't look bad b/c he got hit a few times but b/c he got caught up in a wrestling match with a bigger man. I really need to start keeping track of these threads so I can pull them when shane break floyd ass off

Don't get it twisted, Shane Mosley is alot better at 147 then what he is at 154. That's the part people leave out. Mosley never fit that well at 154, and is completely different at welterweight.

Shane's legs are shot. That is why I think he is going to lose to Floyd fairly easily. If he had some legs left he would make it interesting. He looked great against Margarito because Margarito came to him. His legs have been shot for a while now and any top welter with good movement would beat him. In fact I predicted Berto would beat him. It is still a good fight though because I am not sure how Floyd will fight him. If Floyd hangs around the ropes he might put himself in a lot of danger because Shane can still definitely pull the trigger with his hands.

Mayorga was a LHW on fight night.....plus throw in the fact that he throws looping crazy shots that puts hurt on you.....Shane stopped him.....Shane stopped a mofo that out weighed him by 10-15 lbs on fight night.....thats props worthy in my eyes!! :boxing:
