Whether you scored it for Dirrell or not... I don't understand why there is so much hate from Brits towards Froch.
This is not an anti-USA thread. It's actually a USA compliment because I believe on the whole they produce higher quality boxers than in the UK.
(And yes I am aware of Lennox)
only because he brings no money to the table.
generally there are two types of boxers, draws and nobodies.
those who are nobodies, who bring no money the table like Froch, Bradly etc will try and fight everyone as that would be the only way they can make any decent amounts of money. Plus they dont have much to lose if they do lose as no-one really cres about them.
Then there are draws like Hatton, Khan, who can fight anyone of their choosing and make millions.
so there you have it, Froch isnt this great warrior people like to make out, jsut a boxer who brings no money to the table who's trying to make some money
I totally agree :fing02:. Nicely put.
Two disgraceful responses.
Firstly, Froch would probably make more money fighting bums in front of his home crowd in Nottingham Arena (Khan style) than taking on guys like Taylor, Pascal, Bute etc because those names will command a significant portion of the purse as well. Secondly, Froch fights the big names because of his absolute unshakable belief that he IS the best 168lb fighter in the world, bar absolutely nobody. He is a legacy fighter and a fighter for the fans. What kind of fan doesn't want a fighter to chase the big names and continue to land big name fights when he is a big name himself? Because you obviously don't and that is a DISGRACEFUL attitude. I'm feeling sick writing about it.
Khan and Hatton are draws because they were hyped into them. Notice both Hatton and Khan were promoted by Warren. He then shelters his fighters, picks fights VERY carefully and hypes them to oblivion. Always turns out they can't cut it at the top level (Hatton) and an intermediate level (see vicious Prescott KO - Khan). Sky also seem to have a hard on for certain fighters and not others and so they can get onto PPV easily.
My point is that if Froch was picked up by Warren (God I hope that never happens) and Bradley by someone like Golden Boy, they'd be rammed down our throats on Sky and HBO and the hype would be insane.
To say Froch and Bradley also are not a draw at all is also ****ing ridiculous by the way. Froch wouldn't have be signed up to the SuperSix if he couldn't fill Nottingham arena....
Also, I take issue with the quote:
"Froch isnt this great warrior people like to make out"
So what the hell is he then? That's just vile disrespect for a fighter who clearly is a warrior and ALWAYS gives his fan their money's worth. This is in contrast to Khan would was knocked out in 30 seconds by a bum (on PPV), fights stiffs like Salita on PPV (LMFAO) and only picks to fight people with a KO percentage under 40% (Kotelnik and Malignaggi) and dances around the ring to a tedious UD.
Come back when Khan fights Bradely, Alexander and Maidana in a row and then your posts might hold some value.
Like or dislike Froch, you must admit he chases the big names, he always wanted Calzaghe, he took on these north americans, he signed up for super 6, trust me, if he wins it he will go for a unification fight with Bute, but tough couple of fights first!!!

From what I can tell of most Brits they seem to be willing to fight anyone LL, Hatton, Froch none of them really ducks anyone, but aside from LL their skill level doesnt match their ambition. You don't have to win every fight for me to be a fan tho you just have to be willing to fight. Haye doesn't really fit the mold tho.

Who cares where a fighter is from?
The super 6 scheduling allows for such.
Yes, but he only has one American in his three scheduled super six fights. His other fights consist of a Dane and an Armenian. The previous two North American's were for vacant title + first defense.
Point i'm making, Froch ducks nobody. Scheduled or not, he fights the best out there.
as i mentioned last week, the europeans are tougher and more athletic, but the americans have better trainers(freddie roach, emmanuel stuart, teddy atlas etc)...
If the likes of goerge groves, nathen cleverly, darren barker, ryan rhodes etc hadthose types of trainers the yanks wouldnt get a look in...
No......just no:pat:

Im a fan of Froch, beat 3 good names in his last 3 fights. If he can win his 2 next fights (though fights though !) he will have a very impressive CV .
I agree. The Americans just take everything to the next level, it's such an extreme country. Some of the best athletes and some of the biggest fat asses. Some of the best universities in the world and some of the most ignorant bastards you'll ever meet.
At the good end of the boxing spectrum their coaches really are very good in some cases. They also have such a multi cultural society that all kinds of styles get developed.
I'd really like to see Gavin, Saunders and DeGale with a top trainer either in the UK or America.
On another note, Adam Booth really is doing something right at the moment.
If you wanna talk the next British superstar, it's the guy on the bottom right of my signature.
Some good prospects in that signature. Wonder if Bellew and Cleverly will fight one day in the future.
Because North America produces many slick boxers (usually blacks) and the Brits having any success against them is rare. I mean look at Hatton Mayweather.... did Hatton even land a punch?

I always give props to Froch. People have slated him from day one, but he's got something special. He comes to fight and he's brave. Kessler/Froch should be one of the bouts of the tournament!
Yup!
I'm going to be sooo nervous when watching that.
I remember the Pascal-Froch fight. I watched it on ITV live at the time and it was one of the best fight experiences I have ever had.
Amazing.
