and no I don't think he new found power and speed came from roids. I use to fight etc and when I did so during track season (when I drained myself to come in lighter for sprinting etc) my punching power took a huge dip. Also when I lifted a lot of weights to get bigger my power also took a dip.
My speed and punching power were at their best when I did explosive training which is what Manny has started to do with Ariza, and what Shane has recently went back to (reason why he KO'd Margarito and not Cotto).
Speaking of Mosley he is the perfect example. He look like a truck against Margarito and people fail to realize why. He use to do Olympic style strength training in which and emphasize was placed on heavy lifted to get bigger. Now he lifts lighter with higher reps, and does explosive training, which is why he has this new found power.
Sorry if my explanation is kinda bad...(I'm very tired btw) but if you lift weights and have been through various training programs, you know what I'm talking about.
Triangle Theories?
Not a Pac fan...but...assuming a perfect world where Mosely and Pac fight at the 147 limit, and it's a "fair" fight meaning no catches or strings attached and they are both thoroughly (randomly) test for PEDS.
I say Mosely has the tools to hand Pac a loss, I don't think Manny can knock out Mosely. I think Mosely can knock out Pac. IMO. No flames please.
Mosely will apply the pressure and aggression that Pac has been applying on other fighters...he is also a decent boxer that knows how to finish a fighter off when he senses a KO.
I honestly believe Manny would UD Shane....something to the tune of 10 rounds to 2 or possible Knock him out. I would have never thought Pac could KO Clottey but there were punches, If you payed close enough attentionn to, in their fight that Pac landed on Joshua and had him hurt. If Clottey would have opened up like you guys wanted, he would have gotten KTFO.
I know people will say I'm a nuthugger, but I honestly believe Shane would get knocked out because of his aggressive style and Manny's ridiculous power and speed at 147.
Shane Mosley is the worst possible match up for Manny IMO.
He has granite chin excellent speed great power and he loves 2 fight. Shane got problems with boxers we know that and Manny's boxing skills aren't that great to be honest.
Pacquiao is a brawler with good power great speed and he has heart.
Mosley's size advantage his power and his style of fighting would give Manny hell i think.
This says it all. Agree 100%. If Cotto had better combination's and could throw more than 2-3 punches at a time, he'd have done much better against Pacquiao.
Mosley is another animal - which is why we will not see this fight unless Mosley agree's to come in with IV marks on his arms.
cotto beat mosley, only reason cotto wasnt #1 was because marg loaded his gloves. mosley had a tough fight with mayorga followed with possibly a career best win over margarito. mosley is not a flawless fighter. however, i do view him to be the toughest fight for pacquiao.
can he beat him? yes.
will he? probably not.
I dunno if he can beat Pacquiao, but he certainly poses more threats to him than Cotto IMO. Mosley likes throwing that over hand right. Pacquiao has had trouble with a good right hand before, and he gets hit.
I think Pacquiao would be too fast for him though.
Good points, but Shane isn't exactly slow himself.

This is the closest and in that regard the most interesting fight that could be made out of the big three. Pac's younger, and a southpaw, so he could definitely beat Mosley, but while I could picture Pac laying it on Mosley but not stopping him, I am very unconvinced that Pac could take a good number of Mosley's punches for 12 entire rounds. If Clottey had landed the welterweight average of punches of Pac...
Manny gets hit too easily. Shane has the power of a middleweight.

Well i am a fan of Pacquiao (even if those Pactards don't believe me), and yes Mosley can beat him. It's not impossible to defeat any Boxers/fighters out there, one punch can make a big difference in any fights. Although Mosley is a more complete Boxer than Pacquiao, he doesn't have the same speed and movement to match with Pacquiao's speed and movement, the only thing he would be able to match Pacquiao with is power..It can end up with a draw, but Manny Pacquiao is more likely to defeat him if they fight.
Could absolutely beat Pacquiao, but team Pac will never fight Mosley at a weight he's comfortable at. Mosley will have to come in at 142 or it will never happen.
At 147 Pacquiao gets destroyed.
Everybody who thinks Pac is the best WW out, get a clue. Cotto was never the best WW so beating him at WW doesn't mean anything. Mosley is the best WW in boxing and I don't think he'd have much trouble with Pacquiao.
I'm not solely a Pacquiao fan but can I give my answer?
No, but vote it's burner's fault he should have made a third option: i'm not a pactard and i think mosley beats pacquiao; and a fourth: i'm not a pactard and i thnik pac beats mosley.
no way in hell mosley beat pacquaio!!!
but when pacquaio beat mosley, i only know one reason you pac haters got to say!!! mosley is too old and washed up.........:peeright:
This thread is asking CAN he. Not will he.
