besides a different victor?
watch the first fight, if roy isn't outpointing and outboxing hopkins and moving side to side it's hops fight which is on the ropes with jones holding hops head so it doesn't smash into his face and hop is ripping him to the body
hopkins fought EXACTLY the same, except roy had no legs this time around
prime jones withg two hands would knock the shit outta hopkins
green my ass

its like this....1st fight they were both young hard hitting punchers and in their prime...
2nd fight they were just a bunch of old men slapping pillow punches on each other...
His right hand?
Right - left hook combo?
Hands low?
Startingly similar feints?
Watch the Pavlik fight again. You'll see more
i was thinkin right hand and the leaping left that he used a bit, but it never crossed my mind because alot of fighters do that
but now that you mention the low hands
UOTE=bojangles1987;7989173]But Roy was prime and Hopkins was completely inexperienced! LMAO.
Roy before moving back down to heavyweight had the speed and reflexes to always beat Hopkins. No matter when they fought Roy would be too hard to hit for Hopkins and be able to land more.
Roy wasn't prime and Hopkins wasn't completely inexperienced.
for example? never noticed this

Apart from the fact that Hopkins had two more professional bouts than Roy Jones Jr going into their first fight.
What's interesting is how much Hops fights in a manner similar to Roy - using several of his moves. Been saying it for years (even as Jones has been saying the same thing) but I think it was very apparent Saturday night.

The difference is Roy doesn't have the reflexs or speed that he once had to out point and outbox B-hop the way he did in there first fight... That an he was fighting on an empty tank...nothing left...but the shell of what he once was -- against a guy who has aged like a fine wine with most of his skills still being just as good as they where 6-7 years ago.

LMAORTF Roy was YOUNGER than Hopkins, Roy was nowhere near his prime, Roy reached his prime when he hit 68. Prime Roy KO's Hopkins.
**** outta here with that hopkins was inexperienced. they had bout same record the only thing hopkins never faced was someone like roy. bhop was the same way and ripped thru the division after roy n toney left.
how was roy any more experienced than bhop on that night? that fight was boring so was rematch the only difference besides the winner was roy threw less punches and posed more.
The difference is Roy has suffered 3 knockout losses since and now he's afraid to let his hands go. Back in 1993 Roy had not been knocked out yet so he didnt have that fear of what could come back to him if he missed.

About 17 years.
the difference is roy use to fight to win, he use to let his hands go. Now he just feints and does alot of posturing. Roy use to go all out if he thought he could lose like in the first fight with Tarver. Ever since tarver knocked roy out in may 2004, hes never been the same. Besides against lesser fighters...
bingo......
