I doubt he'll even win, let alone stop Roy Jones. Stop with that nonsense please the last guy that Hopkins stopped was a guy who started at Lightweight in Oscar De La Hoya and was a natural 154 pounder atm fighting at 160. Jones last stoppage Jeff Lacy was not all that but at least the opponent was a legit 168 pounder fighting at 175 and has not been stopped before that.
Just letting you know so that when you see Hopkins look all 45 years of his life you'll say "Damn Kevin was right".
Roy will be left with no legs covering up against the ropes for most of the fight.
Roy used to have excellent ring generalship, so opponents had to fight wherever we wanted it. Hopkins still has great ring generalship and he will use it. Trust, Jones will be getting beat up.
I don't think so. Most likely scenario is a decision win for Roy Jones Jr. The only person Bernard has beat up recently was Kelly Pavlik and that's because Pavlik is an aggressive fighter who comes at you. Roy is simply going to move, use angles and outbox Bernard. Roy has slowed down but he's still way quicker than Bernard. Styles make fights and this matchup is always a stylistically difficult one for Bernard to win.
This is how I see it as well. Roy's legs and chin are gone but his handspeed is still up there with the fastest guys in boxing imo. Hopkins was beating Pavlik to the punch but that's Pavlik, Pavlik is known for power and coming at you throwing a lot of punches at you if you're there to be hit. Roy is known for taking his time, pot shotting, sometimes throwing nice combinations if you give him the time and space which Hopkins low work ate will def enable Roy to use his handspeed to try and potshot to a decision.
Its going to be about as one sided of a beating as anyone has ever seen. Roy is going to look about ready to cry 3 rounds in.

I hope Roy wins. If he gets wooped by Hopkins who is 45 he hasssss to call it quits even against the non elit fighters that he should be able to beat right now. Roy better start boxing and not show boating like he always does because that stuff will get him Knocked out. Green proved it, Roy was quicker he threw those quick jabs at the start but never attacked him, he planned to counter him, he got caught and beat simple as that. If he does that again he will get beat, Roy has to get on the offensive, use his speed and power and he will get the win I reckon easily. LETS GO ROY
nard isnt really a home run hitter, Roy's chin isnt really worldclass but i think w/e speed he got left will keep him outta harms way imo, he just needs to keep his ass off the ropes.
I'm a Hopkins fan and I like him better than Roy Jones, but it wouldn't break my heart to see him lose. To me, Hopkins is the black hat in this fight and Roy is the shot guy trying to defy logic. But that still doesn't change the fact that I'll be pissed at Roy if he doesn't make some kind of effort to win this fight. Against every elite fighter he's got in the ring with, he has acted scared to death to throw punches. Blamed his dad for the loss in the third Tarver fight. This fight is gonna be a sparring session I think.
It's not out of the question that Hopkins can win but to me it looks really weird that people think at this age Hopkins will stop someone. It doesn't matter if Jones is past prime, Hopkins is not brutally beating anyone at all. That's nonsense. This won't be a one sided fight.
roy is getting slaughtered!!!

I agree 100% Hopkins is gonna have a very hard time if Jones is even as fast as he was in that Lacy fight. Hopkins rarely fights opponents that are physically more talented than he is and Jones is frankly easier for agressive mauling fighters to KO, Hopkins is referred to as BOREnard on here for the way he fights, that being said solely because he is defensive counter puncher that as stated hasn't scored a KO in since De La Hoya. Point is Hopkins is going to have to fight Jones in a way that even by the admission of Hopkins haters and critics is completely the opposite of how he normally fights. Roy doesn't have to do that no one expects him to be out here trying to Tyson him or anything, almost everyone expects that Jones will lay back fight in spurts and try to win rounds and make it tough to KO him and avoid brawling. Question is how effective can Hopkins be at earning his nickname in this fight and going after Roy? He didn't do it Vs Joe nor did Roy and it may have cost them both, will he do it in this fight out of anger and is Jones still fast enough to catch him making a mistake is what makes this fight interesting.
