Floyd knocked Hatton out prior to JMM and Hatton is considerably bigger naturally than Marquez. But why didn't he knock JMM out? He dominated him and even knocked him down once but refrained from going for the KO.
I have a feeling he held back because Roach and Arum might just totally avoid him if he showed any kind of power against a naturally smaller man. A KO was the only think lacking from PBF's masterful performance against JMM.
What do you guys think?
JMM has never been knocked out! And didn't Floyd himself admit he was going for the ko in the late rounds? So then are you Floyd fans calling your idol a liar?
He was holding back to go 12 and train his reflexes during a real fight. No pointy in going all out and get a KO in the first round just because hes bigger and faster and basically cant be hurt by JMM.
But then, first good right he got cought with, he was like, "man better take this more seriously", he wanted to send something back and he banged him with a left hook that sent JMM to the ground. Then he was kinda like..."woops, be careful, need to carry him".
bull****in shit, floyd would give anything to KO JMM, so he could have that over Manny.
"I KO'd the guy manny couldnt"
IF floyd wanted to spar, he wouldve KO'd JMM in 10. But we're supposed to believe he needed 2 extra rounds?
He was a full blown welterweight fighting a lightweight and still danced around, leaving a KO out on the ring.
He didnt KO JMM cuz he couldnt
Just shut the hell up. Yes, he wanted and needed the rounds, but, he also picked up the pace during those rounds he said he was trying to go for the KO.
Does it really make a f**kin' difference if you went 11 and not 12. Flomo's ego being the size of Australia, you know d*mn well, he wanted to wag his toungue at PAC and then some.
Explain it to me what that 2nd round knockdown was all about then ? That could've been the fight right then and there, lmao
What are you so upset about mate? PBF didn't want to KO Marquez. He could have done so whenever he pleased. Marquez was a LW fighting at WW. PBF wanted to shake off the ring rust, so he carried JMM all night instead of brushing him off. That's all.
PBF says a lot of things. You shouldn't believe it all. Why did he say that? He wanted to make JMM out to be a beast. He won every round while Pac barely won against him. I've always said that fight was a joke, even though I'm a PBF fan myself. He was supposed to KO JMM inside 6 rounds. He wanted to spar instead. It's not that he tried to get rid of JMM and couldn't do it. He didn't even try at all.
That's why he's Floyd.
Even Billy Graham said it. If he can beat you without doing anything extraordinary he will stick to it, even if the fans get bored.
LMAO, you obviously didn't watch the post-fight interview. Flomo himself stated that he was trying to go for the KO in the later rounds .
C'mon man, that fight was about one-upping PAC, since PAC destroyed Flomo's two previous nemesis.
You know it would've been icing on the cake if he could've gotten Juanita out of there on top of shutting him down.

So Floyd's infallible? If he said that Pac was using PED, would this be true also? Do you expect to look into the camera and say, "I could of been more aggressive and K.O'd him but I didn't. I held back. By the way, please continue buying my PPV's."?
Marquez is tuff as hell and I don't think Floyd's punch is all the much. Plus he doesn't need to lure Pacquaio into anything because Pac will already be ready.
Bullsh*t, Obviously he was trying to get some rounds in. But, that fight was about trying to end it in emphatic fashion. Jabbin' and runnin' was all he could muster against the much smaller/older man, lol
If PBF felt like stopping Marquez, he would have done so. He just didn't feel like it mate. He wanted 12 rounds to spar.

I don't think he was thinking like that. I think he just wanted to get rounds in against a skilled opponent who couldn't hurt him. Also, after bringing him up in weight, and not meeting 144, it would of been bad form to K.O. him, especially considering Marquez is a GBP fighter.
Floyd was basically coming off a 2 year layoff & fought the recognized #2 P4P fighter at the time. The fact that he dominated him with such ease is remarkable in itself.
But did he hold back on the KO? That was my question.

Did PBF held back from knocking JMM out to lure Pacman to a fight? | BoxingScene Community
