There aren't any words in existence to explain how pissed I am with Khan right now...What really bugs me is that I'm one of the few who actually believed he could dominate/stop Maidana...But now its pretty much too late for that fight if Alexander beats him (which I'm pretty sure will happen). Khan better cross his fingers and hope Alexander gets KTFO...
lol, are u serious dude???its not about whos better. i dont kno whos better u dont either. they havent fought. the fact is khan was supposed to fight maidana and he ran from that fight. u wanna say its because he wants to get a name. off of who???mali???come on man if you are a boxing fan, u kno you arent gonna win any fans by beating mali. he ran from maidana. even boxing analysts agree on that...listen to kellerman's comments aft er the maidana fight last saturday.
Your refusing to acknoweldge the fact that paulie gives khan more recognition, and actually brings a gate fighting in new york. Khan-malignaggi will probably sell out or come pretty close to it (7-8k). Khan-maidana is a UK fight, that fight wouldn't even do 2,000 anywhere in the US. If you think maidana is a better fighter than paulie, your knowledge of fighters will be ruthlessly exposed just like maidana will be in time, but we can agree to disagree and il come talk to you in time.
I have never said that khan's camp didn't like the fight, but to be honest with you they are under the same promotional banner, which probably has a lot to do with it. Im sorry I don't listen to the all knowing max kellerman and pass it off as my own knowledge I form my own opinion. Fact is if khan was fighting a bum or someone that is over the hill the fight would itch me a little. The fact that paulie has just come off two good performances is ranked higher than khan, and is looking as good as ever and that I believe he is better than maidana anyway, has fought the better compeitition, former IBF champ, the fact that mayweather and pac were both considering him as a fight not too long ago, just a few of a number of reasons why it makes more sense.
Ha ha dude I have got a little information for you...paulie malignaggi is better than marcos maidana. The fact that hatton beat him doesn't really have a bearing on the viewing figures, as they were at different points in their careers. People know malignaggi, khan is still pretty early on as far as his career goes, and he is fighting a guy that hatton fought a year ago, the casual fan, ie some of my friends think its fairly impressive that khan is fighting someone that hatton recently fought. More than that he has name to face recognition, it is a good first fight for his debut, better than the maidana match up in terms of economics and calibre of fighter. There is not one thing you say that would change my mind about that. Maidana has beaten absoultely no one apart from a good prospect, paulie has fought and beat a lot of good fighters. Christ I don't even know if maidana would beat lovemore ndou!

No, I'm saying that the JMM and Malignaggi fights should never have ben discussed. Maidana was his mandatory. GBP is just going to protect him and never let him fight the best...Let's face it, beating Malignaggi isn't gonna get him some huge headline on ESPN and a huge US fanbase. He should have faced his mandatory, plain and simple. Richard Schaefer and Freddie Roach keep talking about "building up the fight", which is a load of crap. Maidana will most likely never be anything huge, at least not anytime soon so what's the point of building it up? And age isn't excuse. Devon Alexander is his age, and he's already faced three decent names at 140 and has two world titles. He's also chasing after bigger fights like Bradley, Judah and Maidana. Bradley also became a world champ at a young age and has faced a lot of big names himself. He even called out Pacquiao. Another example is Floyd Mayweather. He cleared the super featherweight division in his early 20s.
Khan beat Salita, he was his mandatory however bad he was. If Khan is to fight someone who is non-mandatory then mandatory then non mandatory etc, i have no problem with that.
But yes fighting your mandatory every other fight would make things a lot simpler but boxing does not work like that, few fighters, if any do it.
Fighting Paulie is going to get him more exposure then Maidana, and that's what you want when your making your debut in the US., i really don't see a problem in it.
As for the 3 decent names Alexander has faced, Malignaggi is better then them all, everyone just wants Khan too face a big puncher.

If khan does what I think he will then this whole maidana thing won't be remembered in a couple of years time, just like the prescott thing is starting to blow over. Maidana has just come at a bad point in khan's career to be honest, he is still rebuilding and roach is still refining his technique and his phyisique. People should judge him after this year, and to be honest with you its not like he isn't fighting a good fighter, he is fighting a legit 140 contender and is still stepping up in competition (A lot of people on here seem to forget that).
Alexander is much more of a finished article then khan is physically and technically, people start acting dumb and ignorant when it comes to this point and saying there the same age, but if you know this sport you should see this. Let me put it this way if alexander had a clear ***** in his armour, do you think his camp would go out of their way to put him in with a fighter who could expose that flaw? That is a retorical question.
Do you think Maidana's people would be overjoyed at the thought of him fighting malignaggi? A speed guy who has a good chin and can outbox him. I don't think they would. I think roach will put khan in with a puncher when he thinks he is ready, and that might be his next fight for all you know.
Post this again because you seemed to ignore it the first time
i beat u to that whole paulie is recognizable in new york. i kno, im a nyer. but outside of ny, no1 knows him worth much. nyways the point is 140 is a wide open division. no matter what u say, kahn aint gonna win fans by beating mali. the ppl who do kno who mali is, knos he cant hit worth shit and all the uk fans already kno what hatton did to him. khan wants to win over american fans, he needs to beat the best and he should have started over here with maidana.

i cosign this!! i mean if u run from your manditory, there is little defense when ppl accuse u of ducking. what are you gonna say???
What do you want him too do, cancel his fight with Paulie and fight Maidana instead.
He's making his US debut, he wants maximum exposure, who's the biggest name at 140, Malignaggi, its that simple.
He's 23 give the guy time!

Paulie has a bigger name than most at 140, the fight is at madison square and last I checked he is a new york fighter, and most important he is pretty well known and has an identity with the british crowd seeing as he fought in manchester in front of 55,000 as well as his fight at the mgm against hatton which were both on sky box office (as well as hbo), and the khan fight will most likely will also be shown on both.

I dont mind. But i hope they fight later in their career. Promoters, coaches they see them differently. Boxing matches sucks more often.

nope, neither of them are attractions.no one knos kahn outside of hardcore american fans and no one really knows mali that well either. the whole 140lb division doesnt really have a face right now, even tho some may say its the most stacked divison in boxing rite now.
Their not superstars, no, but Malinaggi is recognisable among U.K fans through fighting on Hatton under cards and Hatton himself. Hes also been in a couple of entertaining fights with other recognisable names (Cotto,Diaz)
Khan is know from his exploits at the Olympics, his association with Manny and Freddy Roach and his sheer speed.
So in terms of being attractions they are bigger draws then Alexander, Maidana and Bradley.

So besides malinaggi who has a bigger draw in the US then??Tim and Alex dnt have a big fan base.then who else?Holt?Torres?maybe Judah but non really bigger than Malinagi really!!
lol...the biggest draw in 140 is easily hatton. u guys act like the guy died. he still boxes and he still will rpoly outsell everyone else at jr welter. mali is not a draw in america. he is a draw in nyc mebbe. but most mainstream boxing fans dont kno who he is. if khan was worried about increasing hs fanbase here, he should have went up to 147. but his ass would get ktfoed if he did tht.
dude, malinaggi is not the biggest name at 140. whered u get that from???
