Ever remember watching the movie “Rocky” and getting inspired when he decided he wasn’t going to be a “bum” anymore? The famous theme song began to play and Rocky began to work out harder than ever before. It just made you want to go out and do something great—something impossible.
He was the underdog. There was no way a guy like him could defeat Apollo Creed and rise up out of poverty, but the fictional pugilist defied all the odds.
The Manny Pacquiao story is the true Rocky story, but to an even greater extreme.
He rose up out of horrible poverty and impossible circumstances to become the Pound for Pound King of the sport.
What does it take to achieve greatness? Faith.
Pacquiao believes in God and obviously understands the Bible verse that states: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Pacquiao has slain every giant in his path.
Time after time he was underestimated. Pundits looked at many of his opponents and said there was no way he could win. “This one’s too fast.” “This one’s too strong.” “This one’s too big.” “This one’s too smart.”
Pacquiao didn’t mind. He beat them anyway.
What happens when a poor, but talented kid from the Philippines believes that the impossible is possible?
Here’s what happens:

Jason Cook of Garfield, Arkansas asked: “When you look at his list of awards and accomplishments, what else is there to say? Is there anybody else who has a list of awards like that?”
This writer was unable to find another boxer who has amassed such an impressive list. After researching the awards and accomplishments of many of the greatest boxers of all time (some of whom are still receiving various types of awards to this day) it is apparent that Pacquiao has received a greater number of formal recognitions than any of his predecessors or contemporaries.
Critics can scoff. They can talk trash and attempt to downplay his accomplishments, but who can possibly deny that list?
On the Internet, a lie can travel half way around the world before truth has a chance to put its boots on.
Pacquiao's legacy is what it is.
That’s truth, right there.
ehhhh..... ring is not tainted.
if it's tainted it's because american fighters get a lot more attention because american writers make up the bulk of ring. it's normal.
ring's ratings are pretty good except for hopkins. that guy is so overrated it's not even funny anymore.Precisely because of hoya. I know what you're saying but my point is that pacquiao doesn't care at all. Only them pactards are happy, pac no happy. Would rather meet ara mina and krista because them are tasty pu$sy. LOL
i'd rather not bother mentioning all those silly awards.
best to keep it simple and just mention the distinguished awards.
by mentioning all that other crap , it's like you diminish the meaningful ones.I agree but I don't think pacquiao even bothers himself with those awards. He has to be arm twisted by arum to receive them after BWAA threaten to boycott him. Ring mag on the othe hand is tainted because of dela hoya. So f@ck them awards.
i didn't even know about those awards 'til i saw that list. :DIt took an american pactard to list them all and a pinoy pactard to tell all the people of the world. Like we will all become better pactards because of them awards.
Pac doesn't do well against fighters dat aren't flat footed. And if U look at his fights, you will notice he has no in fighting skillz. Mayweather killz Pac.
 Billions of websites on the internet and you can only come up with those awards? I could find a 1000 websites with Ali and Robinson ranked number 1 on the GOAT list does that count as an award?
did Ali or Robinson won the Boxrec.com International Fighter of the Year ??!
I don't think so, now get the **** out hater
 Billions of websites on the internet and you can only come up with those awards? I could find a 1000 websites with Ali and Robinson ranked number 1 on the GOAT list does that count as an award?
name 1 boxer in the history of the sport that surpass the accomplishments and awards of pac.....
you know you're signature is a false interview right ??
name 1 boxer in the history of the sport that surpass the accomplishments and awards of pac.....
Think about it. He is not only in an era that has more divisions to fight in but more belts to pick and choose from. It's harder when there are less divisions and only one belt to grab in each division. It was also hard for many fighters back in the day who weren't able to get title shots because of the
MOB/Politics/Business...Feared; so they were avoided...or simply because of the color of their skin so potential "ATG" fighters were cast aside.
Awards: I'm guessing more awards today as well because we have more people to create bullshit awards. More papers, more websites, and more idiots to think they are experts on the field.
Is what he did something Great? Absolutely.
But is it fair to history, to fighters of the past that are simply brushed aside because we have more idiots today that don't know how to read a book, take time to study a little about the history of the sport, watch tapes, ask Pro and/or Former fighters, etc.?
I say NO.
Also remember we are in an era that people are saying Boxing is in the E.R.
How true? eh.
I'm more amazed at the fact he achieved all that facing nothing but come forward fighters his entire career.
and who can surpass his accomplishments??? who??? who?? none so STFU!
* 2009 World's Greatest Ever Featherweight
* 2009 World's Greatest Ever (ranked number 2)
LOOOOOL
Why did you even post this article pasawayako? you know it's rubbish even though you're a Pactard..
Why? That wasn't the idea of a 1 person it was voted by the majority of the people.
