Seeing as it is Frankie Gomez debut this sat on the BHop/RJJ undercard I was looking at/into him so far. I decided to look into Jose Benavidez too.
Both are looking like decent little fighters, they faced off in the ams and I look forward to seeing how their pro careers pan out.
Benavidez won his debut in Jan and is currently 3-0:
Frankie Gomez has the better pro style like 'ksan' said but Benavidez has Roach on his side. Both will become world champions no doubt. Its too soon to say if they will become the face of boxing though.
Roach said that when Amir and Jose spar it's dead even. I'm looking for that sparring session but all I could find thusfar was this very short footage, starting from 0:58:
CAN YOU EVEN POST IN ANY THREAD WITHOUT SAYING AMIR KHANS NAME ? :wtf1:
Gomez has the better Pro Style, he will be more succesful than Benavidez, he also beat him in the Ams and was Silver Medallist at the Amateur World Championships, impressive for a 17 year old.
But both will be the future of American Boxing.
