By the time Henry moves to 160. He'll have to deal with Williams, Guerrero, Korobov and Lara.
Williams, Lara, Kirkland at 154
N'jikam, Korobov, Pirog, Golovkin, Jacobs, Guerrero 160
Henry looks like a talented guy but he sure as hell won't be dominating 160 that's for sure.
Tomato cans are tomato cans despite the small difference in the ratio of wins/losses.
Henry is far more impressive in the way he handles his opposition. Everybody loves KO artists, that's what people want to see. Once he has 25 fights under his belt he's going to be a wrecking machine.
As long as he doesn't start banging skanks and wasting his time at clubs. Once he starts making some money that's when we'll see if he can stay disciplined, that's the hardest part.
He's only going to get better guys. I can guarantee you this: Once he has 30 fights under his belt no version of Cotto would want anything to do with Henry.
I couldn't have said it any better...
Do not get me wrong. Omar Henry is good but Comparing him to Cotto at the same stage is not close at all.
First 8 fights
Omar Henry
Omar Henry's opponents record 28-37-0 Total of 65 fights
Henry's record is 8-0(7 ko)
Fought 5 fighters with losing record
Miguel Cotto
Miguel Cotto's opponents record 62-56-2 Total of 120 fights
Cotto's record was 8-0 (6 ko)
Fought 3 fighters with losing record

And your point is? Cotto was an olympian and Omar was not so that matched them differently! Omar is the most exciting prospect in boxing right now.
Nobody is saying you have to buy into it, but I think he's going to be champion, the only question is when?
He's faster, stronger, and throws much better combo's than Cotto and has more power at this point. Cotto never threw more than 2-3 punches at a time no matter who he was matched with!

Yeah, because I have a history of anti-Cotto posts... right?
Cotto fought Justin Juuko in his 10th fight and kept fighting former title holders and contenders after that, so that's not true.
That's what I'm sayin'. People want to bash his competition, but nobody faces C or B fighters when they first start off.
Exactly, which is why saying he is the future of the light middle and middleweight divisions is premature. Sure, Henry's exciting and couldn't really be finishing the cans any better, but it's too early for this type of talk.
A couple months ago, there was a fighter that broke the record of knocking out all of his opponents in the first round and was stopped in his first step up against Carson Jones. The kid looked real athletic and had a lot of talent, if he had Henry's hype from his 6th fight, he'd have been touted as the second coming of Tyson. Shit doesn't workout like that.
Why did the Cotto comparison came in to play anyway?
There is nothing wrong with hyping a fighter that has star qualities. He's the most exciting prospect in boxing right now.

He's faster, stronger, and throws much better combo's than Cotto. Cotto never threw more than 2-3 punches at a time, which is why he gets clowned by punchers with any kind of speed.
manny pacquiao is weak competition?
its all good though you have the right to your own opinion. im just having fun here.
No offense bro but you are very dense.
AT THAT POINT IN HIS CAREER. What don't you get about that? As in, the first 8 fighters that Cotto faced.
And no Manny isn't weak competition, that's why he ****ed Cotto's world up and made him look like a 48 year old amateur with lead in his shoes.
Sounds to me like you're a pissed off Puerto Rican that needs a hero. Trinidad was great but Cotto isn't going to fill the void, he's not very good, hate to break that to you.
You can be a fan of his but at least be able to see him for what he is.
Honestly i would like to see Omar fight every two months and get more wins and experience under his belt , before a title fight. I believe in this kid and feel like rushing him will be a dumb idea.
I would feed him to Chavez Jr , John Duddy , then work his way up. Kicking Chavez Jr's ass on PPV will be nice to watch. I believe Chavez Jr is a light Middleweight and young so i can see Omar and him fighting within the next year. Yet since Omar is Top Rank i am not sure that will happen.
He's fighting April 3rd and I can't wait.
I can't remember the guys name but I read about it yesterday.
Omar Henry
vs. Orphius Waite (5-0-1) from Chicago on 4/3 in Corpus Christi, on Top Rank LIVE telecast by FOXSports. Omar and Waite have history as Waite claimed a narrow victory when they faced in the 2007 National Golden Gloves quarterfinals. Waite should be confident, while Omar will be looking for REVENGE
Yeah, because I have a history of anti-Cotto posts... right?
na i just wrote that just in case you did agree with him. i didnt think you would agree. dont get me wrong i like omar too, he has the potential to be great and ill root for him to do big things.
I said at this point in his career, he is better than Cotto at that point in his career.
Cotto looked less impressive against the same weak competition.
