1. I noticed that that was the same spot dirrell slipped in earlier in the fight.
2. The only reason he slipped is b/c he stopped & planted his feet to throw a counter left down the pipe & aa was wide open for it. watch it again you will see that the left was at aa face while he was falling.
3. Aa didn't land shit worth talking about in that round beside the dq blow
There was no indicator whatsoever that would happen. None. Dirrell was still winning the11th round, he didn't look any more tired than Abraham did and he had already tasted Abe's power and it didn't hurt him. On the contrary, the only indicator there was, was that Abe was about to lose the fight. Someone who believes he can win doesn't foul like that. Abe went for broke and hoped for bad reffing. He thought, I'm going to hurt him now, if he's not fully recovered then I'll finish him. That was his trick. Watch the last shot replay. There was no way in hell Abe didn't know what he was doing. He looked at Dirrell, and then threw the shot. That was no combo. That's why the ref immediately DQed him.
Also the jaw is not directly connected to the brain, still most fighters are KTFO when hit strong to the jaw. That must answer your question.
It's the snapping motion of the head that often comes from being hit on the jaw. What happens is the brain shifts and slams into the skull causing trauma.
What i found interesting when I rewatched it was when Dirrell gets up, he is setting in the corner with his left hand up to his temple.........the shot was a semi-grazing punch to the jaw. I found that strange...AA looked like he would have gotten the ko in the next rd too

I agree AA got whooped and Dirrell did a good job for the entire fight. AA was getting desperate and wild, this was the only reason he even landed anything at all, his normal strategy wasn't working.
Not sure why so many people insist that Dirrell was even close to being out on his feet before the foul. Everyone is putting waaaay too much stock in the Abraham late rally myth; that it was all part of the plan for him to get white-washed for 9 rounds straight. Abraham was certainly doing better in the 10th and 11th, but, think about if folks, could he have been doing any WORSE?!? Dirrell embarrassed AA so bad for the entire fight that any surge from Abraham was bound to be exaggerated by his fans. His 10th round knockdown was legitimate and definitely had Dirrell buzzed for a bit, but AA simply didn't have the ability to capitalize. It is just plain wishful thinking on the part of AA's fans that a late-round KO was somehow a forgone conclusion. AA fans, like Froch fans, simply will not accept the fact they their man is a heavy-handed, but otherwise utterly ordinary fighter.
Spot on Nacho.
AA wasn't landing shit..what you thought this was jermian taylor he was fighting?
Yeah, a lot of people still think it was "Jermain Taylor" he was fighting because they have this silly notion that Dirrell was about to get KOd.
If you watch ONLY the 10th and 11th rounds, it's a completely different fight. To say the tide was turning is an understatement. Gotta hand it to Dirrell for a great performance earlier on but I reckon he was getting KTFO in the 12th.

Would have? No my man, there's no way to tell if we would or wouldn't. To assume he would is just a guess.
On the other hand, Dirrell could have just avoided him like he had 90% of the fight had he not gotten hit while he was down.
Dirrell was getting hit more frequently as the fight progressed. I'll say there looked like there could have been a fairly high probability that AA would have ko'd Dirrell in the 12th given the way AA was getting through more often.
Of course Dirrell could also have avoided everything that AA would have thrown in the last rd too. Dirrell was getting tagged and stunned much more in the last couple rds as opposed to the first 5 or so.
Bolded.........seriously man. You have a problem.
What are you a f@g?
These forums aren't for bleeding ass pusies they are for men. If my opinion shocks you go to the Oprah forums and get in touch with you feminine side.
Hilarious.. Dirrell kicks AA's ass for the entire fight... Abraham has ONE good round, and suddenly he was going to knock Dirrell out in the 12th?
You guys are too much.
AA himself, his team, and his fans will not give Dirrell his props. They are still in denial that he lost. They are acting like AA was about to win on the scorecards. People are more focused on accusing Dirrell of faking than him dominating 11 rounds.

How is getting clobbered while sitting down not expecting it a lucky break?
Man, are you for real?
I've read some real insane stuff from you over the last couple of days. It's kinda scary to think somebody like you functions in the real world with computers, etc.
He got KTFO and won but he was going to get KTFO and lose. So he got a lucky break.
You don't know me fool so shut the fuk up.

True that! lolol
that brick layer follower in this thread is senseless, talking the way he talks reveals he is not a fan of Boxing, anyone with respect for the punches thrown/landed knows ANY punch can be a KO/KD punch, even a jab just ask Alfonso Gomez and Joshua Clottey. seriously man you have to be truly ignorant to think Dirrell acted any of that, he was in a position that he ain't been in before and didn't have the mental stability to handle so much so soon.
at 1st he didn't think he was a winner you gotta remember he thought he got knocked out and he was slowly registering everything before our eyes, as the footage rolled we saw his corner trying to convince him that he won and he didn't believe it because after the punches landed he was out, not aware of the result so in his mind it's "I just got knocked out", it's not the kind of win you want neither u feel me you basically won by getting KTFO and being hurt worse than the guy you just beat..
mentally it was too much for the young fighter but he DOMINATED the fight, dropped Arthur for the 1st time in his whole career and was only put out due to an illegal shot.. Boxing is more than just a face first street fight with cheaters and illegal bullshit Boxing is about honor and there was no honor in hitting a downed opponent intentional or not
Best post I've see in this thread... I SECOND that!
true story
but you know someone will act like AA was actually doing something
instead of crediting Andre for whooping that ass
ironic...thats excatly what AA did that night :lol1:
I ain't bitter homeboy, but your boy bitched out a win, simple as that, he was coasting and fought a great fight, why did he have to ruin it acting like that? "ya'll I can't breath maaaaan!" lol what a pussy.
LOL, for once i agree with Shalafi. But Direll wasn't coasting he was running for his life, he just got a lucky break.
I got a ? for you the330ballers which Chris Henry are you talking about in your signature? you not talking about "Hard Hitting" Chris Henry the Light Heavyweight are you? last I heard Chris Henry was alive and well
Arthur Abraham prior to Saturday night:
12 round fights = 17
Of which 5 went the distance
Of his 12 knockout victories 4 came in the 11th round or later
We should all be able to agree that Dirrell gave Abraham a tougher time than any of his previous opponents and in Dirrell Abraham was presented with his most skilled advesary to date.
Based on the above it seems like a huge leap in logic to say that Abraham was likely going to knock out Dirrell in the 11th or last round.
As has been stated multiple times by multiple posters, Abraham did not land a single meaningful punch in the 11th.
Could he have knocked Dirrell out? Of course. Would he have? We’ll never know. But there’s no basis in reality to say he would have.
The most likely scenario is Dirrell continuing to frustrate Abraham and securing the unanimous, clear-cut and uncontroversial decision.
Dirrell was staggered in the 10th and was running in the 11th. Of course he didn't know what was gonna happen but when it did, he sure took advantage. He wasn't gonna let abraham take his hometown victory away with a legal ko. Beautiful performance from dirrell. He put on a clinic. Its jus too bad he's a bitch with no heart or courage. Whenever he's faced with adversity he loses his composure and gets on his bike
