I can't be alone here. That fight was bananas right? Strange from start to finish. Laurence Cole's refereeing, the announcers, the DQ, the post fight?
I'm not trying to argue any side of any argument on this fight, I just wanna talk about how weird that fight was.
Topic 1: Laurence Cole's not a knockdown decision and the breakup in the corner. Laurence Cole hates Europe.
Topic 2: The awesome post fight interview with a winner who didn't know he won. We just witnessed boxing highlights history.

Listen. I was cheering for AA. Dirrell did a great job in this fight. AA deserved the DQ. AA acted like a bitch at the interviews. Cole was an awful ref.
I have no idea how you can say Cole did a good job.
I thought he handled things pretty well, like I said it didn't look like an easy fight to call and what matters the most is the fight probably wouldn't have looked any different with or without him refereeing. The only thing that bugged me is how long he allowed the doctors to play cut man on Abraham, but who knows if it's even in his authority to stop them.
I thought Cole did pretty good in this fight. It wasn't an easy fight to call with all the slipping, and the supposed knockdown Abraham got was also confused with a foot tangle, so that call wasn't too bad.

You lost me at "Cole did pretty good".

hahahahah...put a bandaid over it and give AA a kiss on the forehead before sending him back out :lol1:
Abrahams looks tough normally, imagine how tough he'd look with a Hello Kitty bandaid on his eyebrow.
Someone please photoshop this.
You're not allowed to keep your hand on the opponent's face for too long. Holmes used to do that and got warned numerious times. That's why Cole stepped in to stop it.
Yeah then right after that I watched Dirrell push AA's head down with both of his gloves. Ref didn't do anything. Cole is one of the worse refs I have ever seen.
oh yea...ANOTHER weird incident in that fight...i was like WTF...they were straight fixing the cut
I half expected him to inject a local anesthetic and suture the thing closed.
That incident with the Doctor confused me big time. I didn't know the doctor would be allowed to treat his cut.
What sort of response is "I know, I saw it" to a low blow? I only saw the fight once and think AA exaggerated some of these "low blows" and thought he only had a case for one, but I need to watch again.
Abraham has always deflected some blows into his nads. The way he holds his hands and bends over, cause some punches to slide down his arms and into his nads!LOL
Most though are due to the opponent trying to hit him under his elbows, just above the beltline and just plain missing and hitting him low.
It's surprising to me how more people do not bring up the cut. I was under the impression that doctors were not allowed to treat a cut ringside. Putting pressure on a wound and cleaning up blood around it, is treating it to me. Dirrell could have doen a lot more damage.
Lawrence Cole was the same ref that got suspended (I think) for telling a fighter after he was decked in the nuts "You want to continue? You're ahead on the score cards."
That was JMM-Jaca..and it wasn't a low blow it was a headbutt that opened a gash over JMM's eyebrow but on the inside of it..it was pretty nasty..and thats when Cole made that statement..At the time when I watched it live I thought I was the only one who caught that and was like "WTF!?..can they do that!?"..lol
Jmm being the warrior that he is decided to continue and knocked Jaca the fukk out!!..
Bizzarre fight but what got me the most was the fact Dirrell had to pull out the bitch card and "quit" to win the fight when things started to get rough for him. If he would of finished the fight instead it would of been a true masterpiece, too bad he's a bitch.
Yeah, apparently he is pretty incestuously tied into boxing. He owns an insurance company that insures boxers and his father is on the Texas commission?
I would be shocked, but then I realize it's boxing I am talking about.
It's ridiculous that things like that is allowed to happen in this sport. We need to fix that shit up. This sport is dangerous we need the best safety precautions, no stupid biased refs or judges, the best possible drug testing etc not sanctioning bodies and the like trying to leech as much money as they can.

i agree..funniest fight ive ever seen
Also the doctor actually fixing abrahams cut rather than "checking if hes fit to continue" what up with that???
Also abraham got hit with a low blow and cole said "i know i saw it", then let the fight continue, lol
I know right?! I totally forgot about the ringside doc! "I told you to check it, not clean it and apply pressure!"
