a fighter doesn't have to fall face first into the canvas while cockeyed to be hurt
and usually squinting your eyes and putting your glove to your head(like mcclellan did) is not a good sign
luckily dirrell got up and did'nt stay passed out on the canvas to be taken out in a stretcher, people forget he took bombs from arthur like nothin up until that point were he got struck unexpectedly while down
and people got the nerve to call the man a coward and a pussy
fukkin hell...
trying to win is one thing, but what arthur did was just stupid
too much primitive machoness in him, he should try being more strategic and clear headed next time
One minute people are talking about Direll getting KO'd by Abraham and saying he has no chance...saying Abraham is a world beater and can KO anyone at any point....of course this is true...
But when he DOES land a massive clean punch on the chin of Direll when he is defenseless and on the floor....suddenly he's Malignaggi and Direll is an oscar winning actor? Get the **** out of here. I am a big fan of King Arthur and think he'll bounce back from this and still hope him or Kessler win this thing, but the man punched Direll when he was down so it was a damn DQ and thats that. I hate the damn inconsistency on this board when rooting for your own fighters...learn to accept boxing for what it is...if you don't, you're not a proper fan.
Not even that.
Natasha Richardson
Now that was sad.
On 16 March 2009, Richardson sustained a head injury when she fell while taking a skiing lesson at the Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec, about 130 kilometres (81 mi) from Montreal. The injury was followed by a lucid interval, when Richardson seemed to be fine and was able to talk and act normally. Paramedics and an ambulance which initially responded to the accident were told they were not needed and left. Refusing medical attention, she returned to her hotel room and about three hours later was taken to a local hospital in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts after complaining of a headache. She was transferred from there by ambulance to Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur, Montreal, in critical condition and was admitted about seven hours after the fall. The following day she was flown to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where she died on 18 March. An autopsy conducted by the New York City Medical Examiners Office on 19 March revealed the cause of death was an "epidural hematoma due to blunt impact to the head", and her death was ruled an accident.

They normally cop a ban after making the statement. Then come back under an alt of course, but usually circumspect enough to avoid making the same mistake again. Usually.

I hear you.
I just haven't seem it. I'm glad I haven't either. That would just make me sick. The nerve of some people.
okey then how about eubank-watson II? watson took one big shot and went down, got back up and even came out for the next round.
the mcclellan comparison wasnt about what did the damage anyways, it was about how a fighter can look okey one second and be hurt badly the next. the point is there is no reason to think dirrell was faking it, none whatsoever. he took a massive shot, there was a delayed reaction and then he went down badly hurt and unable to continue.
only a sad twisted individual would say dirrell faked it, he fought a brilliant fight no way he wanted to go out like that. who would fake being knocked out in front of their hometown crowd and family in a fight they already have in the bag? and yes the fight was in the bag, abraham was swinging wildly but dirrell was still too fast and skilled for him.
These two situations are not comparable in my opinion.

That would have been a better example.

I never said he was....

Once again, I never said anything like this...Not even close.:wtf:
Bold and big..
Some British fans have made comments of this nature...plus there definition of a 'warrior' being somebody who goes head first into a collusion regardless of the consequences..even their own.
Now I have seem stupid comments on the matter, I'm not saying that. I just haven't seem the one that Poet was talkin about. The people saying the Gerald was faking.
I have seem folk say the Benn never threw one single illegal blow in that fight...Oh I have seem some carzy stuff, just not that.

i completely agree
I feel you, but really, I won't even go into that punch by AA.
I really don't think being rabbit punched all night (like what happened to the G-Man, and yes that happened) and having that one punch hit you (like I said i will not go into it, the punch looked weird though, like it could have hurt, or not) are comparable...
IMO, I thought what Roy did, and Soto looked far worst...Even Margo's late punch on Cotto.

I have never seem anyone say that....
If so, shame on them.
But through out my time on any boxing forum, I have yet to see that kind of statement...

I just think both McClellan and Dirrell faced murderous punchers, Dirrell got hit flush with his guard down so it's bound to have a serious effect.
I gotcha bro.
Yes, but remember many of the same people claiming that Dirrell is faking it have made the disgusting claim in the past that McClellan faked it as well :puke:

That is true, but the G-Man situation is a 100 mile in the other direction compared to last night.
The G-man suffered rabbit punches for several rounds. Flush one's at that. It is a ton of difference IMO.

Exactly, that's the first thing I thought of. You don't have to be KOed cold for you to be effected by a punch.

i deleted it, changed my mind on what i posted
but i think this was worse than griffin-jones and all those others you posted
the mcclellan one being the only one i agree with as he was getting badly beaten over the head with rabbit punches
I can dig the honesty brotha!
Just to me, the fights I named seemed almost similar to what happened last night.
I do agree that the punch should not have happened, but it is not a drastic as many are making it out to be...Not in my view at least.
I hope Dirrel is ok, a builds on this victory. I haven't seen the whole fight yet, but I hear he was doing great (from my brother, not from this site)..
WTF???
I was quoting The Matrix, and his post just vanished??

I really don't think the situations mirror each other at all though...I think it is a bit extreme to think so.
Just my opinion.

lets not forget AD was getting tagged big everynow and then in that fight too, and arthur is the hardest hitting MW-SMW out there today
