Okay, let's get the facts straight:
- Dirrell got a KD. Actually he got two but the ref didn't call the second one. Abraham also had a KD ruled against him.
- Dirrell was heading to a clear UD although Abraham wanted to close it and came in with wildly punches that really didn't connect.
- Dirrell slipped in AA's corner (thanks to AA's corner not wiping the floor properly + those stupid adds printed on the canvas), and while on his knees and both gloves on the canvas, he got hit by an illegal shot that knocked him out.
You say:
He faked it and Abraham shouldn't be DQ'd because it has happened before in (SOME) prize fights without disqualification (stupid analogy by the way but let's play along).
Now, why would Dirrell "fake it" and hope Arthur Abraham gets DQ'd when he, and anybody else, doesn't know what the outcome will be after such incident? You said it yourselves: Fights rarely get stopped completely so why risk it? Dirrell was out-boxing and out-classing Abraham in almost every single round (+ he got a knock down), so he must have known he was ahead on all scorecards so why take the risk and end up with a NC, draw or maybe even a loss?
Dirrell wasn't faking it. The man got blasted while he was on the canvas. A gutless move by Abraham. Just like Roy Jones Montell Griffin. Jones got disqualified, as he should've, and so did Abraham. I just hope Abraham got out of Detroit okay. Anyways, Dirrell put on a show last night and deserves the victory. I f there was another round who knows what would've happened but he boxed beautifully and it was a great show. Hopefully Dirrell is not seriously hurt and he can continue.
He reminds me of Jermaine Taylor to a degree. Totally different style of course, but a very similar approach. Gassy and lacking in confidence and very capable of throwing away fights that should be beyond doubt.
yep, I thought he should've just did his running bit for the last two rounds, the fight was won, but he didn't have it in him to get away from Abe late in the fight.
i think dirrel faiked it but the only one who knows is dirrel. He took the shot and sat their for a couple of seconds looking ok at Abe took a couple of breaths and then laid down and "went unconscious" I think he played it. Also what the **** with the knock down in round 10 abe lands a straight right dirrel goes down no kd ruled.
It took Dirrell longer to decide he was KOd after that punch than it took Abraham to throw the punch after Dirrell slipped...

spot on, Dirrell was actually the more tired fighter of the two. I don't think he could've won on his feet, he was spent and had just eaten a couple of big shots from AA. His time was up, just like Jermaine Taylor in his last two fights.

He was getting shaken up in the last few rounds and up until his slip (what his ninth of the fight!) was trying to run and failing. The writing was on the wall and he could see the danger. He could have won on his feet but I don't think he has confidence against big punchers.

This is not a guessing-game. Come up with something more factual. You don't know shit about what was going to happen in the later rounds so I'll just end your reply right......here.

he faked it because he was going to get KO'd, as much as you try to turn a blind eye to it, Dirrell was getting ktfo'd before the end of the 12th and he knew it so took his chance to end it with acting performance.
