re: Is the rematch clause a rumor or confirmed
The rematch clause is a rumor. That was put out there just to sway the interest towards a possibilty that Mr. Mayweather may not be confident enough. Honestly, there has only been one fighter that Mr. Mayweather has fought in a rematch and that was Jose Luis Castillo. The only reason that happened was because from some spectators, they had believed the fight to be closer than what it actually was scored even though on all scorecards the judges had Mr. Mayweather ahead 8-4. So because the perception was that it was a closer fight, Mr. Mayweather decided to rematch JLC.
There has in fact not been a rematch clasue in any of his previous 40 fights. Even with De La Hoya, there wasn't a rematch clause even though the finances would have been beneficial. The fight wouldn't have. Also here is a real source regarding the rumored rematch clause for the Mayweather-Mosley showdown.
According to Chris Mannix the Staff Writer for Sports Illustrated that covers the NBA and boxing there is NOT a rematch clause for Mayweather-Mosley

here are his most recent TWEETS
"It's done: Richard Schaefer told SI.com that Floyd Mayweather has signed a contract to face Shane Mosley on May 1st in Las Vegas"
"Contrary to reports, there is no automatic rematch clause for either fighter in the contract."
"Rising Mexican star Saul Alvarez will be on the undercard. GBP President Oscar De La Hoya will conduct a separate press tour w/Alvarez."
team mayweather reported there was no rematch clause
Team Mayweather reports a lotta things. Probably just dont wanna make it look like Floyd has considered losing.
i heard there was no rematch clause
That is what Mayweather's camp said after the fight was signed. However, if Mosley wins, I believe he will be glad to give Mayweather a rematch because he can make twice as much money fighting Mayweather as he can Pacquaio. And, as shocking as it might be to Pac fans, no boxer, including Pac, fights for pride or status!
