So whats going on with the under-card?
boxrec says Saul Alvarez vs jose miguel cotto
and Daniel jacobs vs tba
i am hoping the under-card is actually worth while. the Alvarez vs cotto bout i think could be entertaining. With the fight only being a month and a bit away i think the rest of the card is going to be shit. prospects vs journeymen type fights.
anyone with some more info?
They have the potential to put a sweet undercard on, but don't expect them to, 1 they don't need it, and Golden Boy's thing is usually to put prospects they're all superjazzed about and want to promote to the level of the next big thing against Bums.
Which is kind of sad if they do that, because there will be so many people watching this fight it'd be great to put together a decent undercard, and maybe earn some fans for boxing, cause odds are the main event will only be exciting to boxing fans. The casual viewer doesn't always appreciate mayweathers defence.
Jacobs vs A solid step up opponent would be great.
Its too soon, but i'd throw maidana vs ortiz rematch on there
I would have recheduled Paulie vs Khan for this undercard
De leon vs Chris John (I dunno who promotes John)
This undercard of course would require recheduling and cancelations of some bouts, it would never happen, but i think this is a decent undercard that wouldn't cost too much but would be entertaining.
i just remembered that i heard that it could be Sam Solimin that Jacobs fights.....could be a tough matchup just because of sams unorthodox fighting style and is not easy to KO
if its Sam this is indeed a tough fight for GC
Daniel Jacobs is nice wit it...
I'm interested in seeing him step it up again...
he is actually fighting this Saturday on the non TV portion of the HBO card
Cornelius Lock vs. Daniel Ponce de Leon
Depending on who Jacobs faces it could be decent but not great, god forbid that they spend an extra few million on the undercard to make it a blockbuster.

thats a fight that could be very entertaining
I think its pick em
Lock is an upset specialist and Ponce has something to prove
I would be very surprised if this went the distance
