I thought personally Hatton was technically a good fighter (not as bad as some make out) i think he deserves a little more credit then he gets around here. Let's forget about Floyd Sr for a second as it seemed they both just didn't get along for whatever reason.. Now the question is did Hatton have the skills technically to become a better boxer with the likes of Roach training him?
He needed discipline. Whoever the hell trained him should have kept him off the beer. His style suited him fine other than against the 2 best fighters in boxing. Nothing wrong with that.
Hatton always lacked discipline in the ring which was his downfull... After fighting Mayweather you could tell he lost his rag and got silly in there which led to himself being caught by that beautiful check hook and well Pacquiao was a whole different story for him. However that aside, a Hatton trained by the likes of Freddie Roach, Steward could have been a force to be reckoned with, the ability and potential was there for Hatton to be something great, yes he's had a good a career but i feel he could have done alot more under different management earlyier in his career. Some of his traits were just not right to become the best, the likes of drinking beer & fast food & ballooning massively between fights was just not something 'top' boxers would do even though he did get away with it for many years...Had 'Fatton' been more dedicated and discipline i think he could have been something special because i feel he had the X factor but just didn't fulfull just that.

He would always lose to Pacquiao imo, Pac is a warrior too and much faster than Ricky. But he would've taken Mayweather at 140 and possibly outworked him at 147 with a fair referee.
:haha:
Hatton never looked good at 147, but he was on top of Floyd for 6 rounds and had the better of him when the ref kept his fat head out.
He only ever weighed 147 with Luis , Hatton he was 158 in the ring .
He was the same fight night weight with Floyd as he was in all his 140 bouts , learn weight buddy because your talking utter shit .
Pre Tszyu, Hatton was a very good boxer, he changed his style for the Tszyu fight and kept with it. He was a come forward fighter and was aggressive but he boxed more i thought.
Your and idiot
:haha:
, he weighed the same fighting Floyd as he did Castillo 153 , he was 2 pound bigger than Floyd on fight night 151 , you open your mouth and show what you dont know about boxing , Hatton could never beat Floyd so long as his ass pointed to the ground any weight anywhere .

He still woulda lost against Mayweather and Pacquiao both. But an improvement? yes

Hatton is pure warrior, he comes to fight, period.
It wouldn't matter who trained him, any difference they would make would have been minimal.
To be honest, I wouldn't want him to fight any other way.
I don't know he had certain limitation physically (t-rex arms) and he did not have the self control between fights blowing up. He probably could have been a better inside fighter had someone trained him from early also someone would have probably corrected the cocking the left hook while lunging in.
I still think his flaws would end up roughly the same but he could have been more polished.
Depends, Hatton had very poor defense, and always comes forward with his hands down and thats basically what he always does. Roach would have to had gotten him way early in his career to change his style.
This was the point i was making out, had Roach for instance got him early i think he had far more potential to capture bigger titles etc. Hatton was never learning anything under his management, nothing ever changed for him. I think he could have been far greater than he is right now under better management.
