I agree with your reasoning. I used to keep heavyweights off my personal P4P but then I thought “Why not include them if they’re worthy?” I think both Klitschko brothers deserve pound-for-pound top-10 inclusion. They’ve got the accomplishments, skill and talent to merit it. I’m not part of the magazine’s decision making process on the ratings, but I do occasionally compile my own P4P top 10 list for the Yahoo! Sports rankings poll that Kevin Iole puts together every few weeks. I missed the deadline for the most recent poll but here’s my list, which I put together before Wladimir beat Chambers (hey, why let it go to waste?):
1. Manny Pacquiao
2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
3. Shane Mosley
4. Bernard Hopkins
5. Chad Dawson
6. Juan Manuel Marquez
7. (tie) Wladimir & Vitali Klitschko
9. Paul Williams
10. Hozumi Hasegawa
So there you have it. I think the Brothers K are in the mix with JM Marquez and P-Will. And note that Cotto and Donaire aren‘t in the top 10.
I don't know where you are getting that I don't like Wlad. I fully acknowledge and respect that he and his brother are the two best in the heavyweight division. I didn't say he has NO boxing skill or anything like that, but the simple way he fights would be suicide if there was a heavyweight equivalent of a Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather.
wonder how would 240lbs hw through as many punches as Pacqauio and move as fast as Floyd.. how you imagine this??
This has to be a joke.
Wladimir's jab is among the best in all of boxing. His right hand is no joke either. He has superb boxing skills.
All this coming from someone who doesn't even like Wladimir.

The notion that heavyweights by default "can't be top p4p because they have no skills" is insane.
Muhammad Ali is ranked among the greatest of all time pound for pound, and he certainly did not have the fluency, speed and combination punching of, say, a prime Ricardo Lopez, who is on nobody's ATGp4p list. Guess why? HE WEIGHED MORE THAN TWICE AS MUCH.
Top contenders? Just because they are ranked the highest doesnt make them top. They are all horrible for the most part
Mmm, let me think should I believe the rankings of sources such as the RING and ESPN boxing? Or should I believe what an idiot in the internet tells me?
Hmmm, think I'll go with the RING and ESPN :bottle:
No, many of his opponents WEIGHED MORE THAN HE DID:
Thompson
Rahman
Austin
Jefferson
Moli
McCline
Koch
Shaheed
Purrity
Pannell
Dixon
LaRosa
McIntyre
Botowamungu
Martin x 2
Monroe x 2
Wolfgramme
G. Williamson
Maciel
For those 21 fights and a few others Wlad WAS OUTWEIGHED. Frans Botha weighed exactly the same. About ten others were very close to the same weight...

Wlad has NEVER weighed 50 pounds more than an opponent.
Yeah, that was some pretty comprehensive ownage.
Well done ya cunt.
I agree with him, they have been facing nothing but top contenders lately and beating them easily.

I don't think they are skilled enough to be ranked p4p. If there was a heavyweight equivalent of a Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao skillwise the Klitschkos would get stomped. Guys like Dawson and Hopkins in a p4p matchup would beat the Klitschkos.
Heavyweights don't belong unless they have exceptional skills, something that would convince you they could beat guys ranked p4p if they were that size.

You can certainly make a case for it. Personally I think Wladimir should definately be in the top 10. Vitali is questionable, and I say that with Vitali being my preferred fighter out of the brothers.
Wlad is definately in the top 10 p4p at the moment though, regardless of whatever ratings of weightings you want to apply.
I question Hopkins even being on there and Darchinyan deserves consideration imo.
Really? I see plenty of other fighters who deserve consideration before Vic.
