Any fight can be boring but it's not always the loser fault. Fight that are won by one fighter being far supior then the other, seem boring to some becuase their is no back and fourth action. When a fight become into that type of fight, I stop execpting it to be back and fourth and starting watching how the supior fighter is albe to break his opponent down. So I still find it to be somewhat exicting.
What about fights like Taylor/Froach, a fight where by all count he was winning, then in the last round when he got KO or a fight like P.Magili and J.Diaz where Paulie won the fight in the eyes of people who saw the fight but the judges saw it the other way and robbed the real winner of the fight.
I tried to come up with something smart to say to end my statement but I got nothing.
Those are exceptions. Nonetheless, Froch did make that fight exciting, and he also was the winner. Regardless, people need to keep in mind, this is a generalization.
Regardless, I appreciate the honesty with the final comment.

Im confused, because teh title of your thread is, "if the fight is boring blame the loser"
Yet you admitted floyd did not help with him potshotting and running.
Oscar tried, ill give him that. And YES, he made it more exciting. IF he wouldve done nothing then it would have even been more boring. Again, who won the fight and whose to blame for the fight being boring?
You're not getting me. Let's just agree to disagree.
No. Did it make the fight exciting with that Oscar got nothing done and didn't force Floyd to fight more?
Yes or no.
And since I know that if you're being honest, that answer will be 'No'. I will continue with this. Floyd won, what did Oscar do?

tried harder what? Oscar tried to force floyd into a fight, and You told us floyd potshotted and ran. Hardly exciting, but like you said, he "did what he had to do" . Did that make the fight more exciting by floyd doing that, or less exciting. This will require a yes or no answer.

Oscar's. He should have tried harder. And if he could never get the job done, then it's his fault for signing up for the fight.
If you pay to watch a basketball game and one team is far better than the other. So, they do enough to win, takes easy shots and cruises to a victory. It's the other teams fault for sucking. They should have played better.
You can make a claim that the other team should just light the other team up. But.. what for? Take wild shots, and give the other team a chance to get some turn overs and actually make that favored team look bad?
Sounds foolish.

what is there to explain?
every boring fight can be blamed on one , the other or both.
you can't just say if the fight is boring it's the winner's fault or the loser's.
each fight is different.
Right, I get this. We're generalizing here. And MOST OF THE TIME, it's the losers fault.
in some cases but not always. in wlad-chambers i think it was both guys fault. chambers didnt want to win he just wanted to survive, wlad shouldve put it on him alot sooner. chambers fault it was a bad fight but wlad didnt help. but he won the fight and thats what matters so u cant be mad at him, chambers just came to pick up a check, thats a disgrace.
This guy gets it....

well, if the fight is boring, whose fault was it. Oscar
for trying to fight or floyd not trying to fight

Oscar moved forward. That wasn't enough. He tried to throw flurries. Wasn't enough. He had to do MORE. Floyd.. did.... not.
Floyd did what he HAD to do. Oscar did not.
It's.. Oscar's... fault.
well, if the fight is boring, whose fault was it. Oscar for trying to fight or floyd not trying to fight
Oscar kept moving forward, floyd ran and potshot, refused to mix in, thus a boring split decision. Yes its what floyd had to do (in his world), but your thread title says blame the loser.
No fight couldve lived to the hype, but it didnt even amount to a quarter of the hype.

i wont argue with that...
and i understand why most find certain fights boring, i however, generally dont... i like watching winky-esque fighters fight... i like watching wlad fight (although for some reason i was hoping he'd lose this time)...
but its all about preferences i guess... i'd find a 1-0 baseball game boring as sin but a baseball enthusiast might find the "pitchers duel" to be exciting as f*ck....
either way... there's always going to be haters and bitchers...
This I can agree with. I like competition. I can watch a home run fest, or a pitchers batter. I can watch Pacquiao and Calderon back to back. I like it all for different reasons.
You and I both have opinions. They don't prove anything.
Oscar did a lot for 6 rounds. And the first few rounds were relatively exciting. Competitive. Then, he faded off and allowed Floyd to pot shot. Think of it this way. Oscar ALLOWED him to pot shot. Who's fault would that be?
And if the pot shotting made the fight boring, and it's Oscar's fault for allowing it, then is it really Floyd's fault? He won. He did what he had to do. He did his damage. Oscar didn't force the fight to change. If he had, the fight might have lived up (impossible, since the fight was hyped up so much, that virtually no fight would have lived up to that billing.) However, he didn't. And the fight suffered. It's OSCAR'S fault.
And I'm an Oscar fan.

I dont get it. Are you talking about Pacquiao-Clottey or Wlad-Chambers?
Actually, I'm just talking about people and how they're quick to discredit the winner of a fight, as if the loser was doing so much.
Yet, managed to lose. Seems, weird to me.
Wladimir-Chambers is the fight someone brought up, so I brought that fight into it. But regardless, I think the loser is VIRTUALLY always to blame. There are rare occasions, but that's what they are.. rare.
I understand that it's a generalization. What I'm saying is that it fits the situation, 9 out of 10.
If a fighter is defensive-minded, feather-fisted or too cautious, then the fight could be boring. You might want to blame that fighter. Here's why I don't think it counts. The fighter who is facing said fighter should be pressing the action. He should be forcing the harder, tougher fighter. If he doesn't do that, then the fight still lacks.
The winner, since he WON, really doesn't/shouldn't in most cases, change his game plan. It's up to the loser TO FORCE him to change his game plan. If he doesn't, the fight suffers. That... makes it his fault.
i wont argue with that...

Does this apply to Mayweather vs Oscar?
biggest hype to never deliver, ever, in the history of sports. And theres a strong opinion of who's to blame
