To hear the two camps talk, the only impediment to the rematch is an agreement upon weight. Larger obstacles, such as money and promotional rights, have already been cleared. De La Hoya, who still fights at 147 pounds (and who would inherit Trinidad's WBC crown if his nemesis moved up a class), was willing to go up to 151. But then Felix Sr. said he would not permit his son, who struggles to make that weight, to fight lighter than 152. So De La Hoya. wary of a beefed-up Trinidad (even by 16 ounces?), told promoter Bob Arum to go ahead and sign him up with Mosley.

First of all Iam quick to say Oscar got robbed but what I'm wondering y wasent there a part two?
Dispute about money. I think Oscar wanted the lion share
This right here. I think he had every right to since he's the one who put people in the seats. Trinidad was a draw, no doubt but not on the level as Oscar.
Both wanted the lions share ala Hopkins and Jones.
the first fight was mint, it wud have been good for a second
Plenty of reasons.
1. Trinidad had in his mind, bigger fish to fry. Also, he thought of himself as a bigger fish than Oscar. Which, realistically, no one was. He wanted more money than Oscar thought he was worth. And maybe they both had points.
2. Oscar at first had a problem with the idea of fighting him right after his first pro loss. It happens. And when you put place in between fights, the more space, the less likely the rematch becomes. Rematches like Pacquiao/Marquez II are VERY rare, whether people know it or not.
trinidad didnt want the rematch it got 2 a point where a spanish news channel had trinidad interviewd and oscar popped out in a screen in front of him askin why wont he give him the rematch lol ...crazy no 1 talks about it n i agree oscar beat him easy 2
