Its not every day that a fighter fights against a man that sets a record for punch output. When that happens, a defensive fighter is probably gonna set a record for blocking. Clottey is what he is and went up against a machine that was KO everyone else. At at the end of the fight he lost, but Manny looked more beat up than he did at the end of the fight. Instead of looking like Cotto, Oscar, Hatton, Diaz which is KOed and mangled. Clottey has my respect, he's just not on that animal Manny Pac's level. Like so many others. He did what he could and fought a smarter fight than the other guys who got mangled, not knowing there limitations.
clottey deserves the heat he's getting. he just had the BIGGEST fight of his career and he pissed it all away. we knew clottey was gonna be clottey but when you're on the big stage, you have have to show that you want victory. he didn't show that on saturday. he should have taken more risks, especially when it was becoming obvious that the fight was headed towards a shutout. he fought to survive instead of fighting to win during a championship fight and that's just a disgrace to the sport.
I rewatched the fight today...........Clottey took a BIG beating to the gut......he got crushed downstairs like no ones business. Pac was busting the lower abdomen area up severely.
clottey dint throw enought punches, he was like a punch bag
Clottey was protecting his face the entire fight. His ribs and kidneys? I bet they hurt still.

I agree, Joshua Clottey could have won, (not would have won, COULD have won) had he thrown more, he was more accurate, and it was clear that he was able to absorb Pacquiao's punches, when he felt those uppercuts pushing Pacquiao's head back, he should of followed up, pushed Pacquiao a little bit, because Pacquiao cant punch when his feet are settled on the ground. Clottey has the tools, he didn't impliment them. I will still be a Clottey fan and I thought he might have one @ least 2 rounds. He needs a trainer to build confidence in his offense.
Clottey played himself by letting this little fake ass Bruce Lee wannabe tee off on him all night. He is the BIGGER man in that ring and their is NO glory in playing Winky Wright to a little flyweight on steroids. No glory.
Mosley would have never allowed this to happen to him. Clottey needs to retire. When you can't beat the best, what point is it in beating the rest? Is the goal not to be champ?
Your avatar has cellulite.
Steward mentioned it in the 11th round when clottey had his moments and pac would put it him on taking it right back. When pac gets hit he comes back at you right away, he gets pissed while Clottey just doesn't have that he is way too passive doesn't have the warriors mentality.
I was disappointed he did not throw more. Having said that for all who are bitching about his strategy all you need to do is listen to the interviews before the fight. He on numerous occasions said his aim was to not lose like the others and give Manny a hard time. I rem getting pissed of when i watched the interview.

I agree, he blocked sure but he did not get his face rearranged in the process. He was the first to make it the distance with Pac in 5 fights. Clottey could have opened up more and would have been ko'd for his efforts, more fan friendly yes but not friendly to his face. I don't think people stop to realize the significance of 10 punch combos and the power that Pac has on them.
He quit on himself, his fans, his family his country and his trainer.
He deserves all the heat.
This is the best way to describe it. Clottey brought this to himself. The nerve he had to tell his trainer he wanted to last 12 rounds to prove to Roach that Pacquiao couldn't knock him out. He was only there for that and a paycheck. He deserves all the heat he's getting and does not deserve to be in another PPV main event.
its easy to throw all those punches when a man is right in front of you standing there with earmuffs on not punching back..if clottey threw more..manny would throw less
very true, pac-mosley wud be a great fight to see, but mayweather will beat mosley on may 1st , maybe pac/roach will target shane coming of a loss, at catchweight 143lbs

some other fighters dont even have the balls to step in the ring with pac let alone throw their hands
