A Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto rematch?
Why not, said the two-time champion from Puerto Rico.
Cotto answered with a brief yes when asked if ever he wants a return bout with Pacquiao, who scored a 12th-round stoppage when they met for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight strap last November at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The two-time welterweight champion from Caguas, Puerto Rico was in attendance when Pacquiao defended his 147-pound belt against Joshua Clottey at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas over the weekend.
Issues concerning weight could hinder the possible return bout between the two popular fighters.
Pacquiao and Cotto fought at a catch weight of 145lbs when they squared off the ring four months ago.
But with Cotto challenging Yuri Foreman three months from now for the world junior middleweight title, that meant the Puerto Rican will be adding six pounds more to make it at 154, a weight class Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s equally popular trainer, said is too big for the Filipino.
Both Cotto and Pacquiao, however, are being promoted by Top Rank, opening the possibility of the two meeting again at a higher catch weight.

what i really want to know is if margarito and cotto met face to face at the venue...if they did must of been akward or something :argue:
lol.. i could imagine.. I would like to see a rematch but i also respect Cotto's stance on the situation.. Margs shouldnt be allowed to fight again.. Even DeLa Hoya said it.. so it must be true! :lol1:
If they sell this fight as a chance for Pac to win an eigth title, I couldn't find any possible way I could support Pac anymore. I'm trying to give him a chance to clean up his act, but if he does one of the following, fight Margarito or a Cotto rematch I'm not paying for anymore of his fights just like I sat out during the Clottey fight.
I prefer a Margarito fight at this point, more winnable than a prime Pacquiao. Let's see how he does against Foreman though.
Cotto wants to avenge his only real loss( we don't know if Margarito cheated), that's a good thing, but if i am realistic, i can't see Cotto winning it.
Of course he would love a rematch with Pacquiao. It would mean another big payday in a career that probably doesn't have many more mega-fights left. But Pac has even fewer superfights left in him. If the showdown with Mayweather ever happens (and I think it will), Manny will probably call it a career. He has too many other things on his plate and wants to go out soon (and with a bang).
He should avenge his loss to Margarito, who took his virginity so to speak.
No. He shouldnt let Margs make another dime off his name and i agree.. I think all fighters should boycot fighting Margs personally..
No rematch needed but of course he is going to want one. It was a big pay day and who wouldn't want to avenge a loss. There are other fights out there though and he should entertain them instead. Rematches should only be for razor thin fights or if someone was robbed in the fight.
He should avenge his loss to Margarito, who took his virginity so to speak.
Cotto would have a much better chance beating Mayweather.
If Mayweather is not too afraid.
You mean Miguel Cotto from Puerto Rico? He aint fighting Cotto cause he's from Puerto Rico.. :nonono:
Instead of asking for a rematch against a guy he has no business fighting with again, he should ask Margarito for a rematch the man who put him down on his knees.
u mean the man caught with plaster:boxing:
Plaster....
I think most people with an IQ over 63 know "Kid Sheetrock" is a scrub without his plaster punches.
~Why isn't Antonio asking for a rematch with Mosley? Ahahahahahahahaha....
Actually he did say before he wanted a rematch with mosely but he knows where the money is.. its in Pac.. hopefully he doesnt get that fight because he doesnt deserve shit IMO..
Top rank will spin doctor a way for cotto to get a belt at 154 and make Cotto defend it against manny with no drug testing and make him fight at 150 lmao.
