Who do you think was the biggest waste of talent?? One thing for sure, both fighters could have been a lot better than what they were. Both fighters lack of discipline made them good but not great fighter.
Toney was so fit when he was a middleweight and now he's a big fat ass.
And Judah had amazing hand speed, a lot of talent, but he wanted to be a gangster and had no discipline.
They both had a good carreer but they could have had a GREAT career.
In my opinion Judah is the biggest waste of talent.
Would have to say toney but i think nazeem also deserves a mention
Although to be fair all of them have still had fairly successfull careers compared to most,But i know what you mean it's always,What if....
judah... by far..
toney did his job in the boxing game... he did all he could....
zab is another history.. is def.. an underachiever... a guy with his natural skills should have done way way more with his career
I'm seeing some racists in this thread.
Anyway I'm going to have to go with Zab Judah. Toney did enough to be remembered throughout the generations.
Zab Judah could be up there with the likes of Mayweather, Pac and Mosley but his mental inadequacy let him down.
wow......I know Zab has had some rough nights and has developed a reputation as a fader......but to call a 2 division, 3 time world champion a waste of talent is crazy imo!!
zab never had talent.
just because someone is fast and black they are expected to be the best fighter in the world?
i think judah had talent, he has a mental issue. in my opinion he was better than floyd for the first 4 rounds or so. he just can't seem to face any controversy in fights. he is a mental midget in the ring. if he fought the way he can sometime for 12 rounds every fight, i think he would be one of the hardest guys to beat. and that for me is his big problem, the mental aspect, however he also lost all his fights besides tszyu at WW, and he is a very small WW. He can still make 140 and he fought at WW for 5 + years. he did beat junior witter more decisively than what bradley did.
Judah......by far. First off when we are talking about elite athletes Toney wasn't that talented. What Toney had was an extremely high amount of skill which maximized his talent.
Secondly if we now go by the premise of who did the most with their respective careers it would again go to Toney. Just look at his resume and the sheer number of top level fights and you'll see why.
The sad thing about Toney however is that if he had the dietary and gym discipline of a Hopkins, Mosley or PBF he would've been a top 10 ATG.
this SHAT right here :boxing:
other than like, rjj, i cant think of a fighter with more natural talent than zab.
foot speed, lightning hand speed, reflexes, coordination, concussive 1 punch KO power. he had the knowledge too. he knew how to box. he just didnt have the intangibles and he had a below average chin. actually, other than the tszyu KO, which was a hellacious punch by the way, his chin held up pretty well. its his will that didnt.
Toney is still a HOFer... He could of been so much greater than what he really is though.
Zab Judah is just so overrated. Had skills but didn't have the chin, mentality, or heart to be anan ATG... Toney did have all that.. Toney just didn't have the descipline.
So I have to go with Toney...

Great post man, green k!

You're right, we're only talking about a guy who had an amateur record of 110 wins for 5 loss and who was regarded by a lot of boxing experts to have the talent to dominate an era in his division.
But well, I agree, he's a waste of talent because he was black and fast !:loser:
