From where did Mayweather being a boring fighter come from?

I would rather watch a technical fight over that fight anyday of the week.

Out of 40 fights he's been in one very boring fight(Baldomir) and one boarderline boring fight(DLH). That's 2 out of 40, so where did this "Mayweather is a runner", "Mayweather is gonna make it a boring 12 rounds" come from? I thought there was enough action in the Marquez, Hatton, and Judah fights? Gatti, Ndou, Corley, were all exciting fights. Bruseles, Sosa, Both Castillo fights were fun to watch. Corrales, Hernandez, Burton, Manfredy. So out of two fights, why do you guys call him a boring fighter out of just 2 fights that were boring, Out of 40 pro bouts? Exactly, it really started with the fight with Baldy then it took off after ODLH fight. The bobfather is also to blame (he's great at promoting whatever he wants people to believe) But you're making a mistake here though. You're arguing with facts. I've learned you can't win an argument on NSB by stating facts... you must state cliche claims w/o justification like floyd's is just boring; he's just scared; he always fights fighters smaller than he is, etc.

If most fighters had the skill of Mayweather, they'd trade brawling for "boring" or "running" as some people call it. Unless you believe it's cool to be stuttering while trying to have a conversation with your children or even having serious mental complications, as a result of so much damage.

it thought a lot of those exciting fights you mentioned are pretty boring, hatton really wasn't good until the KO, he retreated and for some reason let a smaller hatton win some round and push him around. the rounds zab won were pretty good but he stopped fighting and floyd took over and it got more and more boring however, for me that fight is very watchable. gatti was brutal he would only throw counters he should have knocked him out in under 3 rds, same with marquez, he only countered when he could have easily just beat the shit out of him. my thing is , i like boxing skills, but i like to see a guy use them to beat up his opponent which floyd only does if the guy is like corrales and comes at him constantly throwing power punches. i don't mind when a guy is safe when he needs to be but floyd is safe even when the guy in fron of him is a punching bag. dont hate on me floyd fans , its just my opinion. I think you should just stick to watching Vazquez-Marquez fights. If Hatton-Mayweather and Judah-Mayweather were boring for you then I don't believe you like boxing skills. You like fighting, blood, guys being hurt, doctors telling boxers to quit boxing, that is what you like. You don't like the art of boxing, hit without getting hit. You want to see Floyd get knocked down or out, then it will be exciting for you. It was the same thing with prime Jones.

Baldomir, Hatton, Marquez, De La Hoya.. all boring or mediocre fights. He outboxed, knocked down, and knocked out Hatton. He outboxed and knocked down Marquez. I agree with the Baldomir and DLH fights being boring but the other two are reaching.

I wouldn't call him the most exciting fighter to ever lace them up, he's far from it. But saying he's a boring fighter in general, from 2 fights out of 40 is just pure hatred. imo.

Go watch the Baldo and ODLH fights and tell me if you were honestly bored. Every fight does not end with a KO. Matter of fact I used to get mad Tyson fights would end so quick. Who wants to buy a ppv that ends in the 1st round over and over again? Hopefully FLoyd vs Manny happens or this stupid crap will go on forever. Floyd did what he had to do against a bigger man in DLH but it was borderline boring i admit. Against Baldomir I loved the first 2-3 rounds where Floyd was putting a display of right hands and all you hear is the crowd enjoying it in in awe. But then I think in the 5 round and up when e supposedly broke his right hand which is believable seeing as how he stopped using it, the fight did become dreadful to watch.

Shuts out Pacquiao like he did to Corley meaning he might get stunned a couple of times by Pacquiao but I still see Mayweather shutting him out. He is cautious but not boring (xcpt for the Baldo fight) Its one of those things that haters magnify when there is nothing else to say about a dominant athlete. I remember them calling Roy boring, then he lost now they dont really give a **** about him Success breeds envy. Whenever someone dominates what inevitably follows is an inially small group start to nitpick and accuse him of (ducking, cherry picking, running, boring, lacking power, having beaten no1, having no chin, would lose in another era) etc It just the way things are. This is true and it can apply for almost every boxer. Calzaghe, and Marciano are two other boxers that don't get enough respect although they were once against odds and came through. You can also see the same thing is gonna happen to Ward and Dawson.

Ali allowed guys to wear themselves out with the "rope a dope". I don't see that as unnecessary. I consider it unnecessary because truthfully speaking he didnt have to do that, he didnt have to take them shots. All he had to do is get out of the way but he chose not to, he chose to absorb them instead. Thats why i say its unnecessary.
