How do you know. What's your criteria to make that judgement ??
I know Shilstone has been around for awhile. But, I have this RJJ documentary and it was filmed during his training camp for his rematch with Tarver. Going by with what I saw, I don't really see Shilstone's workout routine anymore different than the others.
The thing with these strength & conditioning coaches, they more or less do the same thing, just different variations and philosophy. None of their exercises are proven fact that it'll get you an X amount of speed, or muscle, etc..
In the end, it's all theory and research. No proven facts !! If anything, these S&C coaches are great bullsh*tters' and great cheerleaders to get their guys through the grueling training camp. They're there for the moral support.
I have the same documentary. His resume speaks for itself, getting Michael Spinks in shape to move and win a title at heavyweight, Roy Jones for the Ruiz fight, Hopkins for Tarver fight. Plus other athletes in many sports including Serena Williams.
There is something about that guy that I don't like, but he's accomplished a hell of a lot more than Ariza at this point.
He's a bit up himself but he's got the resume.
Shilstone, it's not even close.
