That was a dominant performance by Pacquiao. The people whining about him being marked up - well of course he was ****ing marked up. He had no real respect for Clottey's power and more importantly he was trying to lure him into a fight, an entertaining fight. As a result he would stand in the pocket and take shots on the inside to see if Clottey would try and open up. Not to mention Clottey's own admission was that Pacquiao was too fast and at one point at the end of one of the rounds I distinctly heard Clottey say to his trainer 'he's too strong'
I can't even believe that there are people here talking nonsense about Pacquiao slipping simply because he had a couple of shiners. He was in a fight you idiots.
Sorry for the rant but as a lifelong fight fan and current trainer I really have no tolerance for this stupidity any longer.

Yeah could anyone find that? Would be interesting to hear again, especially because he said afterwards that the power didn't impose a threat. Did he say it to keep his reputation as a rock? I mean EVERY punch that Pacquaio threw was making a loud snapping sound, indicating that the power behind those punches were bigger than Clottey stated afterwards. It was one of the mid rounds but I swear I heard it. I will watch it again later and make sure that I wasn't hearing things....
It wasn't a totally boring fight as some people found it to be....Pac's body shots were a pleasure to watch and his 5 punch combinations were just astonishing....
Clottey couldn't really do anything else...If he tried engaging the way Cotto did, he would have been knocked out....
Green k given

Great post bro!!!!!! You hit every point right on.
From what I saw, Pacquiao did a lot of the same thing as with his fight with Cotto. Just from observation it seemed Pacquiao LET Clottey hit him with those shots.
If you just watch from an unbiased view, after a combination Pacquiao would just stop when he could have just unloaded on Clottey.
It was the same in the Cotto fight. Pacquiao seemed to let Cotto draw him to the ropes to allow Cotto to get those shots in.
Flame if you want but that's just what I saw.
Yeah, I was like, "He's just standing there waiting." haha.

Pac took a little bit of a beating in the fight.
On purpose.

Funny thing about your whole post is you dont find it odd AT ALL that CLottey thought Pac was "too strong". What is this world coming to?you spelled Einstein's name wrong. I have just discovered what irony is and I like it.

That's how I saw it too. It seemed like he was baiting him so he can open up. pac don't mind taking a little punishment just in order to give alot of punishment.
When a natural welterweight gets shutout by a natural featherweight, u call that a dominant performance. Too many extremes on this site either for Pac or against him. if you are truly neutral and examine the performance, the conclusion would be that Pac put on another amazing performance! Not only that but he gives the fight their money's worth because he could have easily cruised after the 6th round but he never slowed down because he wanted to give the fans excitement. Sadly clottey did not help out the cause!
