this always makes me laugh too, when african americans always have to hype a fighter at 168 to beat calzaghe.
first it was lacy, then hopkins then dawson and now ward
Always knew you were a moron-glad we can amend that to racist moron.
Im yet to see evidence that Calzaghe is capable of beating a prime fighter with slick skills, he never fought one and when he did fight a slick fighter who was 40+ the 40 year old had him over and would of won if he had not tired.
Some of you guys are stupid, no offense.
I dont like Calz, but come on, the current Ward does not have a chance against a prime Calz, that isnt to say that Ward cant grow into a better fighter, but currently no way.
Prime Calzaghe was actually quite a hard hitter. Maybe you only know the later version with smashed hands.
And you base this on what? That he knocked out a lot of chumps early in his career? So did Fernando Vargas. Calzaghe has and has always had solid power at best.

ward hasnt hit his prime yet so im assuming he will only get better. im going with ward on this. i was never really impressed with calzaghe. and before u calzaghe fans gang up on me to defend ur hero, these are just my opinions
ha joe by KO, are you kidding? he would be the least powerful guy in the super 6.

Who would win?
Shocking poll results. Based on nothing like the usual. There is no indicator whatsoever Joe would be able to compete with Ward, let alone win! The one common opponent they had was Kessler and we all know how Ward made Kessler look: like he didn't belong there in the same ring with him, despite Ward being the prospect and Kessler the defending tittle holder!!! Calzaghe was good but he was not special. Ward is a gold medalist who adapted perfectly to the pros and at 25 year of age already beat the WBA champion.
wow calzahge is owning lol. i think joe would win UD or knockout, but ward hasnt hit his prime yet so it is hard to call.

Ward, in my opinion joe only fought one top guy, kessler, and he has lost to ward, i think joe was overrated, he was good, but jermain beat lacy just as bad as he did. and most his other opponents have lost multiple times, and i do not consider his hopkins or RJJ wins impressive at all, they pure money fights. joe beating pavlik would have been much more impressive, he talked a lot of smack on kelly and then never gave him a shot, i always consider that pretty gutless.
Calzaghe for now. He dealt with speed well, had decent mvoement. Wrd beat Kessler better than Calzaghe indeed, but Kessler hasn't been the same.
Ward may be able to beat Calzaghe after a few more years.
I'm not talking about Calzaghe coming out of retirement. I'm talking about the Calzaghe from the late 90s/early 00's vs the current version of Ward.
